Will Super Mario Galaxy win "Game of the Year" ... again?

Super Mario Galaxy was released last year, and recieved many "Game of the Year" awards from gaming sites, magazines and other game outlets. But it looks like SMG hasn't finished winning it's fair share of "Game of the Year" awards ... It is now up for nominations at the Spike Guys' Choice Awards.

Once in a while a game comes along that makes people fall in love with video games all over again.

I haven't played Super Mario Galaxy, but if it has the Mario charm to it, I don't see why it shouldn't.
But as too much of anything isn't that good, maybe it shouldn't.

  It wasn't really the best game, and the forums are dead on neoseeker. But many people purchased it, so it must of been good enough to get, "Game of the Year," atleast once, but definately I don't agree with it becoming, "Game of the Year," again =p

Super Mario Galaxy was a fantastic game, and deserves the praise it receives. Don't knock it just because you are into other games.

To be honest, I doubt Spike will give SMG the game of the year award. They have always seemed far more interested in presenting the "punk frat-boy FPS addict" stereotype gamer than actual quality games.

It was a really good game, yet I never thought that it deserved, "Game of the Year," since it wasn't really the best game out there. I'm not saying that it wasn't fun, it's just not perfect enough I think.

I don't know why people on other websites like it so much =p

  And this is coming from someone who called Super Paper Mario the greatest game ever and gave Mario Kart DS a 3.7 out of 5 becuase even though he said there was on bad things about it, "it's not my favorte game". In response to your earlier comment, the quality of a game has nothing to do with how active the Neoseeker forum is or how many people bought it.

  Well at least bbb7002004 is paying attention, SMG will almost never be Spike's Guys Choice Awards game of the year, GTA4 is probably a definite though.

The forum is inactive because there isn't much to talk about, even though it's still a great game. The main problem with it is it's easiness. It's very linear, without loads of exploration or collecting like Super Mario Sunshine had, which is why I prefer it.

It was a pretty awesome game. I would say that Brawl and Mario Kart is better then it though.

I can't see it getting it again. It's a great game, no doubt, but with games like GTA 4, SSBB, GoW2, and so many others, it's hard to see it winning again.

  QFT. Bioshock may be amazing but for the most part, it was overhyped.
