A FF Versus XIII soundtrack to be released this March?

Gothic Girl | February 05, 2008 | Video | Playstation 3
Despite an obvious lack of information on Final Fantasy Versus XIII, it seems that a Square Enix soundtrack featuring songs from the game is already ready and waiting to be sold in Japan. IGN has reported that the soundtrack (named "Drammatica - The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura") will be ready for sale on March the 25th.

However, it seems odd that a group of songs from Versus XIII are being released so early, considering a 2008 release of the actual game seems unlikely.
Hearing them a year early will certainly take away some of the "fun factor" in discovering new tunes while playing the actual game.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII may be the most mysterious of the three known FFXIII projects, but, in a surprising twist, it's going to be the first one with a soundtrack! HMV Japan has posted a listing for a new soundtrack from Square Enix that will contain tracks from the TBA title.

The soundtrack is called Drammatica - The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura. Being released in celebration of Shimomura's 20th anniversary as a game music composer, the soundtrack will include selections chosen by Shimomura herself, re-recorded using overseas orchestras (overseas as in outside of Japan).

FF Versus XIII music is being included as a bonus.

Look for the Drammatica CD on March 26 at a cost of 3,000 yen. When contacting your favorite importer, ask for catalog number SQEX10112 on the Square Enix label.
