Tigon Studios has released a new trailer for its upcoming Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. Their first game, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, was a sleeper-hit and featured some pretty incredible gameplay and visuals. If this trailer is any indication, the follow-up (or re-imagining as some are calling it) looks to be even better.
If you liked Tigon Studios' Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, chances are you will like their upcoming Dark Athena title. Due out in the Spring, this Riddick title will allow gamers the complete the campaign from Escape from Butcher Bay as well as an additional campaign after Riddick's escape. So if you did not...

I guess I can be considered a cult fan of the Chronicles of Riddick. Loved all the movies and loved the last game to death. It never did anything new but did everything right. I have high hopes for this game and can't wait to play it.

I have been fairly surprised at this whole franchise. I LOVED Pitch Black - thought it was one of the best horror films of the last decade. Just an extremely well-done flick. I did not really like its sequel, though, as I felt they left the seemingly 'real' world of the original for a much more stylized and epic one. Escape from Butcher Bay completely blew me away, however, and I found instant respect for Tigon Studios. I have very high hopes for Dark Athena as well.

      Here's to crossing our fingers!

And rest assured, when I re-interviewed my boy Vin recently for Babylon A.D. I had a chance to talk a little smack with him before I had to jet. He confirmed that Riddick is still alive in his heart, and we still may see the next two installments of his Anti-Star Wars trilogy with Riddick leadinng the Necromongers to the Underverse...

        I can't wait for this.

Wait, next two installments of what? Movies or games?

Anyway I'm like Darknet where I loved all the Riddick films and the games. Vin Diesel is awesome actor. Every movie I saw of him was epic. Can't wait for this game.

I never played Butchers Bay as I was more of a PS2 guy and didn't own an XBox, but this trailer definitely gets me excited. Its even better than they are including BB with Dark Athena as well so now I'll get the opportunity to play both thorougly.

Yeah, especially since it should all be presented as one long story. Should be pretty epic, starting in the first game (which I believe has been updated a bit as not to bore previous players) and move into the new content.

Yep, actually is the third time it has been updated. There was a Directors Cut of Butchers Bay that featured new content as not to bore players, and they've done it again with this new installment.
