The best Quake mods you will ever see ... "The Simpsons" and "Quake on Me"

Gothic Girl | June 28, 2008 | Video | PC
Here are two of the best Quake and Quake III mods you will ever see.
One is an almost perfect replica of the Simpson's house and the entire town of Springfield! The other is a detailed recreation of the music-video of one of the best 80s pop songs: Take On Me.

"The Simpsons"

Not normally the type for mods, especially for old old old games, but I can make exceptions for mods with overwhelming charm and attention to detail. Mods like this one, which recreates the Simpson house in excruciating detail, from the family portraits to a kinda-functioning bathroom scale.

"Quake on Me"

More Quake mods! While that Simpsons one from the other day was admirable for its craftsmanship, this one is notable for its vision: a recreation of the style, if not the exact setting, of A-Ha's Take On Me video. Sadly, the vid cuts off before we get to see what must be an inevitable boss fight against those creepy blokes in motorcycle helmets, followed by a polygonal reunion with that girl with the awful hair.

I don't know what is creepier, a working bathroom in a first person shooter or that A-Ha song.

Take on Me = one of the best songs of the 80s. Fact.
