Nintendo's next console will be the best
This article basically rambles on about the history of Nintendo, how they brought in the NES to shock the world, then they fast forward to this year, with the Nintendo Wii beating it's competition by millions of units. At first, this was believed to be rumor, but the author allegedly says that Nintendo is already working on things like 'head-mounted sensor bar' and to play downloaded virtual console games via your SD card. Ten Golden Rules of Videogame Fanboyism
"Ah, fanboys. What industry can truly call itself an industry without them? Those who prove themselves obsessively loyal to any product or corporation can be found among many communities, and nowhere do they flourish more freely than within gamer culture.
Although it may sound ridiculous to normal people, swearing undying allegiance to a heartless box of electrical components is a perfectly rational act in the mind of the fanboy, even though if he defended something like a particular brand ..."

Top 10 Years in Gaming
Of the 30 years that videogames have been running strong, it's always going to be hard to choose a top 10 list. There are always years that are left out even with stellar titles in them, and as much as it pains me to see 2004 and Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 overlooked for their monumental contributions to PC gaming (especially HL2's genius Source engine), I do agree with their number one choice.

Games that haven't stood the test of time
"Some games are utterly timeless. Super Mario Bros is still perfect. Soul Calibur 1 is still beautiful. But this is GR’s Week of Hate, after all. So here are the once-great games that might shock you if you play them today."

Easter Eggs: A selection of Nintendo's hidden secrets
"Easter eggs aren’t just chocolaty goodies that a man-sized bunny rabbit delivers one a year, but also the name given to an intentional hidden message or treat included in all sorts of media, including CDs, DVDs and videogames. Nintendo has included a number of Easter eggs in its creations throughout the years - some useful, others utterly pointless, but all tiny glimpses into the souls of the individual programmers from one of the industry’s biggest companies. Nintendic has compiled a list de..."

Super Turrican hits North American Virtual Console
"We imagine that Nintendo is being deliberately tight-fisted with its North American Virtual Console selection this week, considering that consumers Stateside will be able to get their hands on Super Smash Bros. Brawl this coming Sunday… Or perhaps not, but we can’t imagine any other reason for only offering one new title this week. Sadly it isn’t Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64, but the far-from-shabby Factor 5 effort, Super Turrican, originally released for the Super Nintendo."

The evolution of King Bowser: better now than ever?
"For every goodie, there needs to be a baddie, and in the world of Nintendo they don't get much bigger than King Bowser - or King Koopa if you prefer. He's been around just as long as Super Mario and changed just as much, but because of his evil doings, we suppose, he doesn't get anywhere near the same amount of attention. It's time to get properly acquainted. Let Nintendic take you on a trip down memory lane, documenting some of the antagonist's most famous exploits and seeing just how much h..."

Petition for Take 2 Games to not sell out to EA!
"We, the fans of Take Two Interactive Software, Inc. (T2) games, object to the idea of Electronics Arts (EA) purchasing T2. For the sake of diversity and variety of choices in the video game industry, we would like the two companies to remain separate. Each of the companies make games that are unique to their respective ways. The fans view the purchase of T2 shares by EA, as jeopardizing to the games made by T2, and would not remain loyal if EA acquired any T2 shares. By signing this petition ..."

Sealed copy of Chrono Trigger sells for over $1000!
"The auction for the sealed copy of Chrono Trigger I wrote about yesterday has closed and the coveted game went or a whopping $1,217. The winning bidder will be a bit poorer but will have one hell of a piece of game history in their hands. If you're itching to drop a load of money on a sealed SNES game and missed out on this one, you can still get a bid in on this copy of MegaMan X2. Opening bid is $1,000. I'm truly amazed... I guess it's true that things are ultimately worth whatever someone ..."

Welcome to the definitive gaming shrine

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time gets dethroned as the Greatest Game Ever?
For over a decade, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has hailed as the greatest game of all time. And since GameRankings began tracking the average scores between professional reviews, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has continued to justify that title by hailing as #1 in the top overall games ever. But it appears for the first time the game has been pushed beck to #2 by Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii. And unlike the hours long reigns other games have had as #1 on the Top ove...

Interesting list. I've never even heard of the first three; Final Fight, BAD DUDES vs. DRAGONNINJA (though it sounds bad-ass), and River City Ransom. I definitely agree with the top three though. I think TMNT IV should've been at number two, but number three is still good. That was one of my most-played games. It was tons better than the first few TMNT games.

6 Video Game Gimmicks That Went Away Too Soon (And 6 More That Need to Die)
"Since its birth, video gaming has undergone an incredible evolution, from simple sprites and a ghost-eating Pac-Man to today’s domination of home consoles. After all that time, any gamer who’s worth their weight in rupees will remember (fondly, or otherwise) some once-common sights that went the way of the Virtual GameBoy, never to be seen or heard from again. CRACKED recalls some video-game staples of yesteryear, and admits that, in the end, there are still more of them kicking around than w..."

Top 5 Best Supporting Characters
"We’ve all played a game where someone other than the main character has a huge role in the game, usually an unsung role. The problem is that these characters are absolutely vital to not only the enjoyment of the game but in pushing the story further along and quite often even saving the main character a time or two. Well it's time these silent saviors get recognized, so here's the top 5 best supporting characters. They were picked based on personality, in-game presence, and over-all abilit..."
