Feudal Hip-Hop: Afro Samurai Screens

pWheelie | June 07, 2008 | Screenshots | Playstation 3 XBOX 360
Namco Bandai released some new screenshots of their action-adventure title Afro Samurai, based on the anime series of the the same name. These screens showcase the Xbox 360/PS3 build of the game.
Afro Samurai, the pseudo-anime series, is a visual feast, a kinetic whirlwind of animated style that puts so many TV shows to shame. Namco Bandai is looking to capture that in their action-adventure game of the same name, and if they are able to replicate even a tenth of the show’s cinematic splendor, it’ll be quite the feat.

From these screenshots boasting an awesome cel-shaded style, it looks like they are well on their way to capture the artistry. We’ll just have to wait and see how the katanas clash and the limbs fly in motion. But so far, it’s looking damn good. And when you have Samuel L. Jackson voicing the main character in your game, what more could you ask for?

Have you ever watched the anime? One of the best action animes I've ever seen in my entire life. If it's anywhere near as action and gore packed as the anime was, I'll definitely check this out.

The show is amazing. Just imagine that beautiful 10 minute anime gore fest from Kill Bill vol.1 as its own tv series.
