Ninja Gaiden II: IGN score = 8.7/10

IGN has just reviewed Ninja Gaiden II and gave it a pretty nice score of 8.7/10, stating main points that it has a bad storyline, great graphics, the soundtrack goes very well if the gameplay, the camera could be improved and that the game would be best tried on harder difficulties, to give you more of a challenge and thus, make it more appealing and last longer. Ninja Gaiden II is easily one of the best action games on Xbox 360. The depth in combat is as exciting as ever and the new gameplay additions and changes only add to the experience. The game has been focused from its predecessor into a more pure action affair, for better or for worse, but the formula remains the same -- frustrating camera and all. It's challenging and rewarding. It looks great in motion and it feels great to know you're the one at the helm, directing this bloody dance. It has its foibles and doesn't feel as rich as the last Ninja Gaiden, but this sequel still offers up a great ride. Start doing thumb exercises now. Your poor fingers are going to be worn out by the time you get through this adrenaline pumping blast

If this was the only 360 title, I would still get a 360 to get this game, I want it so bad, I just wish I had the cash.

Disappointing to hear the story isn't as good because that's kinda what I look for in a game tbh. The camera apparently also has issues. Guess I'll have to rent it first but other than that, sounds like a better game than Sigma.

  You shouldn't look for story in action games. God of War's is pretty bad, DMC is *bleep*ed up, and Ninja Gaiden goes from big breasted CIA Agent in bondage gear to mechanized enemies and fighting giant blind trolls on bridges with bow and arrows.

_{LMAO after hearing the score, im not as massively crazy about the game, sure I liked Sigma and want to play this but the storyline is also apart of a game. Sigma, while being a port from the originals and having its own exclusive stuff, had a great storyline. Which hasn't changed much from the originals. Its disappointing to hear about the bad parts of the game, still I want to play this.

But I was expecting this game to hit 9.5, similar to its predecessors. Still 8.7 is a very good score. But I was hoping the storyline would be great though.}

_{I wish this game came out for the PS3, it could be awesome with the power of the Cell, and Itagaki making it for it.}

I believe it has something to do with the heavy hitter the week after, MGS4. I'm sure this game will get a few A's and 9's from other reviewers, but then again I do trust IGN more.

It's fair to me, nothing's changed, a review won't stop me from getting a game that I am highly anticipating. 8.7/10 is a damn good score if you ask me.

Its all to do with IGNs outlook on their review scores being prestigious, if they go through a few months of giving 10/10s like every publication is right now, then it will devalue what is one of the only scores in the industry that still means something.

This means it some cases they may have to be a little harsher with their scoring, there is a problem with their ratings though. They were set up back when games were lucky to get 8/10, now games are getting so good even if the gameplay suffers it is a high 9/10 contender... I think this needs to change as games that deserve a high score get 10's but other games that may be just as good will get 9.9/10 or something equally as stupid just so 10/10 stays as prestigious.

i thought the point of ninja gaiden is that hardly anyone can beat it, then you try it on a more difficult level, and then nobody can beat it.

  If you watch the gamersdye(I think that's the one) video where it shows the "First Ten minutes(really thirty)", he's playing on Acolyte and still has a hard time beating enemies without abusing power moves.
  
  Some reviewers have stated having trouble on Warrior(Normal), and none have attempted Mentor or Master Ninja. Rest assured, it's still going to be difficult.
