PS3 FPS Controller

For the PC FPS faithful among you PS3 gamers, your calling might be here. SplitFish have released a new keyboard and mouse combo for the PS3, the FragFX. It splits the SIXAXIS essentially into two, with the mouse buttons assigned to R1 and R2, with the face buttons along the left side of the mouse. The other part of this controller so to speak looks a lot like the Wii's Nunchuck, with an analog stick and the D-pad on it. It also sports a cool Frag button which slows down mouse movements for easier sniping.
Dedicated PC gamers have always stood behind their platform as the best for first person shooter titles thanks to the accuracy and precision offered by the classic mouse and keyboard control combination. While the FPS genre has, over several years, established itself in the console space thanks to major titles like Halo, there will always be a contingent of players who shun dual analog sticks and consequently console FPS titles.

Happily, there exists new hope for the mouse-palming FPS faithful who want to get some console action going on. Accessory manufacturer SplitFish, the company behind the innovative MotionFX for the PS2 (review), is now launching the rather unique FragFX controller for the PlayStation 3. The controller basically breaks a SIXAXIS in two, replacing the right analog stick with an optical mouse and moving the left analog stick to a Wii Nunchuck-like dongle.

I'm just going to sit and wait for the first person to say Sony is copying the Wii/Nintendo.

Well there not. This is completely original. I mean r1 and r2 as the mouse buttons, that is completely new and awesome.

I would buy this if I see good reviews for it. I really hope it is good. I'm thirsting for a dual stick alternative to FPS. This is more crucial to me than a racing wheel for GT.

That looks really cool, I hope it dosn't break easily like other 3rd party controllers for previous consoles.

And this is pretty much as close as other parties can get to ripping off the Wii without actually infringing on the patent.

Aiming the wiimote is still way cooler than moving a mouse around on a mat.

This is just like using a computer.. Nothing that good about it. Having a mouse means you have to limit what position you play in. Most people will have to get a table for the pad then sit and play.. Unless i can put that mouse pad on my chest while i play lying down. I always thought the original controls were good cause everyone is limited to that analog stick and such. Where as a pc fps is just too easy. But i still look forward to using this.
