Website Review of GoNintendo.com

RKRigney | October 02, 2008 | Reviews | Company Misc
SlapStic.com presents their second website review with an in depth look at GoNintendo.com, the Nintendo-centric news blog. Interesting things are pointed out about the site's history, like the existence of two other sites by the creators of GN...
One interesting thing I discovered when doing researchfor this article is that GoNintendo is actually one of three sister sites. The other two sites, http://goingsony.com/, and http://gonemicrosoft.com/, are essentially failed efforts at creating GN-styled sites for the other two major hardware makers in the gaming industry. The latest posts for both sites were posted in early June, which is usually a really great sign that there's not a lot of hope for the sites. After doing some reading, I found that the cause for the aborted launches of the sites was an inability to find staff writers who were willing to work on a daily basis. Based on some more recent forum posts by site administrators, it appears that genuine efforts will be given to get the sites up off the ground, but an amazing amount of work is going to be necessary if GoingSony or GoneMicrosoft ever want to see the same level of success as GoNintendo.
