IGN: NHL 2K9 Review

IGN have put up a review for NHL 2K9.

NHL 2K9 is an ice hockey game from a popular series of EA Sports. It contains in the gameplay a number of different techniques performable with the stick, more "super star" moves along with numerous improvements with graphics, engines etc. Unlike its predecessors, it has online capabilities. It also contains minigames.

With the release date so close, a review to perk up interest is of no surprise!
As a huge hockey fan (raised in Minnesota; the state of hockey) I've been dying to see an NHL franchise - be it from 2K, or EA - make the first step onto Wii. Despite the slightly less enthusiastic outlook on the sport compared to things like the NFL or MLB by the general public, NHL has always found one hell of a home in videogames, and for those that enjoy the sport outside of the virtual world, there are few things more entertaining than sitting down with a buddy, checking the ever-loving crap out of him, and hitting a top-shelf slapshot late in the third period. As far as sports games go, it just doesn't get much better than hockey.

    2k9 isn't apart of EA games, thats NHL 09. 2K9 is the competitor against EA's NHL 09 game.

    Anyway I heard some issues with the demo, and they don't have be a pro mode, so I'm picking up NHL 09.

    I hate reading wikipedia wrong. ;.;

    I love Ice Hockey games for the vastly unnecessary violence.
