Reasons Why Guitar Hero: On Tour, Could Rock!

Twilight | June 26, 2008 | Reviews | DS
Many reasons pertain to the fact why Guitar hero: On Tour could be the best game for not only for the Nintendo DS, but for most hand held games out there. One reason is because mainly, you'd be able to play Guitar Hero anywhere!
The music sounds great. They used some good compression and it when you turn it on the game encourages you to play it with headphones. As a first for Guitar Hero games they had some band do covers of songs but put their own take on them. I think it paid off but they also have plenty of tracks by the original bands. I got a kick of of having "Jessie's Girl" by Rick Springfield, "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister, and "Breed" by Nirvana in Guitar Hero game.

The graphics really push the Nintendo DS and it is instantly recognizable as Guitar Hero. The style reminded me more of Guitar Hero II and the freaky giant mouthes singer of Guitar Hero III was luckily toned down in general freakatude. Graphically it is pretty impressive for a Nintendo DS game. The note interface was clear and easy to follow.

"As a first for Guitar Hero games they had some band do covers of songs but put their own take on them." Not too sure what they're meaning there.......There's been quite a few of those over the games. Anywho, I agree the game is great but way too short and it kills your wrist quickly!!! I already beat it and so has my fiance......doubt we'll pick it up ever again unlike the rest of the GH series.

It's still a good game. I mean, you can now play GH anywhere at anytime!

I agree with pwned227. I personally like it better that you can play it on a TV. I'm not a big fan of hand held devices. Maybe it's just me.

Yeah...but you can't play it in public, although you can carry it anywhere. I mean, poor people listening to your songs

I also like it better on TV

That's why headphones come in handy.

Anyhow, while I like what they're trying to do and having a portable GH seems like a fun idea, it just doesn't feel natural to be playing it on something besides the GH guitar.

"Yeah...but you can't play it in public"

Yes you can. You just have to be suttle when playing it. >>
