Wii Fit Review: Fun and Fitness

JayCat | June 09, 2008 | Reviews | Wii
Gamefocus reviews Wii Fit, wherein the author reveals his Wii Fit Age (ouch...), has difficulty with some yoga, and WORKS those abs! But is this title worth the price of admission?
But none of these activities would be possible if it wasn’t because of the Wii Balance Board, which, in my opinion, is one of the best interactive peripherals ever invented. The Wii Balance Board is shaped like a household body scale and it uses four AA batteries as a power source, which can power the board for about 60 hours. The board is wireless and contains multiple pressure sensors that are used to measure the user’s center of balance, weight and body mass index. Like the Wii Remote before it, the Wii Balance Board is very intuitive and it’s extremely sensitive allowing it to pick up and record any shifts in weight. However, the board is able to take only 330lbs (150kg) maximum weight, locking out the particularly robust from joining the Wii Fit bandwagon.
