The History of Music games.

the undertaker gonzo | June 04, 2008 | Reviews | PC Playstation 2
Well the article looks at music games from the start and how they have evolved over time. It all began when Otocky was released in 1987 but it was 4 years until the next one was released known as miracle Piano. Then things continued on and in 1999 we saw Guitar Freaks. Time continued and more were released and then we were given in 2005 Guitar Hero. Then time continues again with more games coming and the next one coming is Battle of the Bands this year.
With the recent announcement of Guitar Hero World Tour, not to mention hints towards a Rock Band sequel, music-based games are undoubtedly more popular than they were a few years ago. One need only look at the recent slate of rereleases like the XBLA port of Rez or Samba de Amigo for the Wii - hardcore faves that weren’t commercial successes - to understand the value of music games on the market today.

We've charted their popularity and placement in today’s gaming world, and now we present the history of music-based games.

Yeah, music games have really taken off lately. There has been huge marketing for Guitar Hero 3, and Rock Band. A piano game would be a little bit different though.
