Beta access to Street Fighter II Remix soon to come

chautemoc | March 16, 2008 | Previews | Playstation 3 XBOX 360
Super Street Fighter II HD Turbo Remix will find a home in a two month-long beta within Xbox Live Arcade shortly (lack of resources prevented a PS3 version). Described as a "limited stress test", it allows players to fight as longtime favourites Ken or Ryu in a single stage. The catch? Gamers will have to purchase Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 when it arrives on XBLA in the spring, a few months before the much-hyped Street Fighter IV is unleashed.
Capcom was unclear on the number of modes playable in the beta. It's believed two modes, Quarter Match and Tournament will be up for testing when the beta launches. Quarter Match has two players fighting while up to four others watch. The winner takes on the next challenger, as you would in an arcade. Tournament is an eight-player bracket battle to determine top dog.

Commando 3 arrives on XBLA this spring for 800 Microsoft Points (US$10).

So if Commando is only for XBLA, how will PSN get access to the Street Fighter beta?

Ah, should've caught that one. They're not running it. Will edit accordingly. =)

Its weird. Everything I've heard is that the beta is only on XBL. Then, the other day on G4TV they said XBL and PSN and now I see this I really would rather not play Street Fighter with an XBOX controller. Though, I guess I don't HAVE to try out the beta. I'm just very skeptical of how accurate the Remix and Street Fighter IV are going to be. Kinda scared actually.

Hmm, well every news source I found online said Sony declined to release it due to lack of resources, and I believe at least one included an interview with Sony about it.

Looks cool, I was never really in to these games though.
