E3 2008: The Sims 3 (quick preview).

Agrias | July 15, 2008 | Previews | PC E3 2008
E3 2008 provided Gamespot with a trailer showing a Sim going about his business. While at first it appears to be gameplay from "The Sims 2", seconds later, a new and colorful world appears, showing the true content of the incoming "Sims 3".

The link for the trailer isn't provided, but Gamespot made a great description, so you can imagine how it is.

See the source for further details.
The trailer for the game, shown after a brief introduction, featured a playful poke at the previous games in The Sims series, which took place mostly in your own home. As the trailer opens, the lonely Sim sitting in his bathrobe and brushing his teeth on the couch suddenly discovers the outside world. Immediately, the surrounding environment comes to life in vibrant color; you watch as Sims enjoy outdoor life in the neighborhood: joggers out for a morning run or out by the stream catching fish. Suddenly, a Sim celebrity of sort appears, to the delight of squealing Sim fan-girls. As the floppy haired star busts out his guitar and begins laying it down Sim-style, word spreads as Sims come from all over to watch the show. The trailer ends with a beach-side party, as all the surrounding Sims have come to the beach to watch the impromptu concert.

I stopped playing The Sims quite a few years ago, mainly because of how much space it took up. Unfortunately I can see this game taking up a lot more juice. It looks pretty good though.
