Europe-Nintendo Changes Logo

Dark Arcanine | November 26, 2008 | Press Release | Company
That's right, the iconic Nintendo logo is now changing in Europe. The shocking news was announced in a German Press Release.

It's not a big change, just a colour change from red to grey. But grey is boring! Red is vibrant and fun, it seems Europe is making Nintendo more boring.

As the source says, let's just hope this doesn't become a global change. We want our red one!
For several years, a new generation of Wii and Nintendo DS games have adorned themselves with a new logo, in discrete grey.

In various publications the former logo, with red lettering, can still be seen. In the event that you have not already done so, we would like to sincerely ask you to now only use the current, gray Nintendo logo.

The red one feels sort of classic, and it's a shame to see it go. Down with gray, and back with red!!

The Nintendo logo has been changing colors left and right. No matter how it looks, you're going to see the big red ellipse at every E3.

Why change from a vibrant eye catching colour to such a dull one?

^^^^^ exactly what I was thinking.

Funny thing is, I bet they paid an advertising agency like $50,000 to come up with this new look

One thing I have always liked about Nintendo is how even their darkest games have always been just a little bit more vibrant than the competition, except for black and white games of course, but it is hard to say anything graphically about back then. I hate the modern grey grittiness that has overtaken so many games, I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

I think they're just trying to look more modern, doubt it's something to worry about too much. Still a shame, the red is so much better.
