The simulator genre is ever expanding, and that'll be reinforced by the currently in development Music Wars Rebirth (MWR). Freeware gamers may be familiar with the name, as several titles under the Music Wars name were released in 2004 and beyond, which attracted tens of thousands of downloads.

MWR gives players the power to manage the financial state of their virtual record label as well as manage the artists signed to it. Sounds kind of like franchise mode in an NHL game, but replace the hockey industry with a music industry. This makes sense too, as the developer, Wolverine Studios, has up until now specialized in sports simulators.
