  The first two of those screenshots look spectacular. The last two, less so.

  These screens are absolutely amazing. If the actual gameplay is anything like what it appears to be in these screens, then I will be very impressed. Just looking back at the older GTA games and how it has progressed.. amazing.

  They look pretty bad IMO. The textures are shocking, especially on the man in the 3rd screenshot.

    You seem to be forgetting that this is 2007, not 2027. Of course games aren't going to be picture perfect - especially ones of this scale.

      I've seen PS2 games with better textures than GTAIV. I never said the games graphics should be absolutly outstanding, I'd love to see them up to date. They certainly don't look up to date.

        These graphics aren't perfect, but they're definitely not a disappointment. GTA isn't all about graphics, it's about gameplay.

  The 3rd screen is pretty bad, I bloody hate "gangstas" but the other 3 kick ass, cant wait!

  Man, theses screenshots look almost like the real thing. If the graphics are this good for the PS3 and Xbox, then the game should be another good one, so I might check it out.

  I really, really, really do not understand why so many people are disappointed and complaining about these graphics. As I have said above, these graphics are not perfect, but they are definitely not a disappointment. Grand Theft Auto is not all about graphics, it is about gameplay. Why are so many people complaining? The graphics DEFINITELY are not a disappointment. I do not care all that much about the graphics of the game, for the most part, I only care about gameplay, missions, and things like that.
  
  Meh....... just stop complaining, these screenshots look decent and the game does not look like it will disappoint.

  This is Rockstar, one of the biggest, richest and most successful video game companies on the face of the earth. You say that the game is about gameplay and not graphics, but I think you still have to expect the game to have great graphics. Rockstar have said themselves that the game is all about detail. You know, the whole "quality over quantity" thing. The map is smaller than San Andreas, a map produced on a system not half as powerful as the PS3 or Xbox 360. But, the map in GTAIV is much more detailed. Why would they not finish off this whole detail agenda with some impressive graphics? They're working with the two most powerful gaming consoles ever created yet they can't even produce graphics up to par of games that are over 12 months old?
  
  It's not just the textures that don't look right, but the character models. Niko himself looks pretty bad. His face is nice and detailed, but his clothing looks almost Playstation 2 like.
  
  I'm not saying the graphics are terrible, I just think they really don't look like anything we've seen over the past 6-12 months. I'm not comparing them to the likes of Gears of War or anything, but they're definatly under-par to what they should be, especially considering the game won't even be released for another 5 months, and that games coming out within that 5 months (most of them made by companies much smaller than Rockstar) already look better than GTAIV in the graphics department.
  
  I just hope Rockstar improves that graphics before the finalised version.

  Those look awesome. I can feel the life actualy coming into the city. I hope this game impresses me and a lot of friends. It should be awesome.
