Capcom: Playing Good Cop Bad Cop... Just With News

Krunal | October 11, 2007 | Other | Playstation 3 Company
With the recent announcement that Capcom were going to be taking the Monster Hunter 3 franchise to the Wii instead of the PS3, many fans have rebelled against Capcom for leaving their fans high-and dry since the game has started on the sony console. It's a similar response that they got for DMC4 when it was announced that it would be going multi-platform.

Well one developer had enough of the whining by members of the forums, and responded with Let's see how they feel at the end of next week about us when a PS3 owner complained about Capcom abandoning them.... it seems highly likely that Capcom have some secret announcement for the playstation 3 that will be announced at the end of Next Week.

Let the theories begin.

Well this doesnt phase as I hate Monster Hunter, but wtf is Capcoms problem? First DMC4 becoming Multi-platform, now this game going for the Wii? Whats next? Mega Man X9 is gonna be a 360 exclusive? Onimusha 5 is gonna be on the wii? Jeez.

Nope, I'll tell ya what's next...DMC4 cancelled for the PS3.

Now either they got a big ego, or they have some sort of "Dead Rising" quality game for the PS3...either way, I'm not feeling it.

Good, It's good to see a company not give in to what people think. It's not our place to tell developers what to do. And when a good game comes out like DMC4. Not buying it just because it's not exclusive anymore is stupid.

Why wouldn't you want them to do what we want? We buy THEIR products, they're supposed to listen to us. So it is in their best interest to do so...Now I'll understand the sudden change of consoles, but what I don't understand is why make so many promises when they can't keep half of them.

What promises? This is about people pissing and moaning about capcom abandoning them. This has been going on since DMC4 became multi-platform. The only people who should be upset is Sony. Overall it was a good move from Capcom. This however effects people, but I doubt this was a spur of the moment "stir shit up" decision. Something Nintendo did to make them happy, or something Sony did to piss them off, Motivated this

You should play closer attention to Capcom news...their disappointments consist of:

          1) No Dead Rising or Lost Planet on the PS3 despite causing major uproar among the fans

          2) No Dead Rising 2 despite popular demand

          3) MH3 going exclusive for the Wii.

I mean I know why they would be switching around consoles for profit and all...but for *bleep*'s sake, they're pretty much forgetting the fans they made along the years with the same franchises. AND not to mention that they stated that their future games would be multiplatform so "more people could play their games"...apparently that got lost in translation.

OMGZ DMC4 WUZ ON DA 360 AZ WELL OMG CAPCOM WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

Jesus Christ, there's still a PS3 version. And as for Monster Hunter 3, I say it's kinda unfair for Sony players because I'm sure they were expecting it for the PS3, but now they might have to buy a Wii for it.

I don't really care though...Didn't like the first one.

Maybe third party companies are trying to make gamers like me: unbiased so they can have all three systems.

But then again, converting fanboys is like trying to convince Michael Jackson that average women are 10X better than boys under the age of 12.

It's probably nothing. It sounds to me like they're just making a comment on how much the PS3 people whine every week about something...

Hopefully. Or otherwise they can announce some new game called "Choko Bloko Robots" exclusive to PS3 in Japan or something.

Fans always whine. Nintendo fans whined when RE4 went to PS2 even though they already had the game. And now Sony fans whine when Monster Hunter goes to Wii.
