Arguably the best baseball video game to release last year, and certainly the best on the Wii,
MLB Power Pros provided a deep baseball simulation with a multitude of options and modes, under the guise of its super deformed Power Pro versions of current MLB players. The
Power Pros series is hugely popular and successful, and well-established series in Japan.
MLB Power Pros 2008 will feature those same game modes that were present in the original MLB Power Pros, plus new ones for a total of over ten. There is the Season Mode, where the player will be the General Manager and guide their team to be World Series Champions. Players will have a multitude of options available to them, including negotiating trades, salaries, drafts, practices, and more.
The signature modes of the Power Pros series are the Success and My (MLB) Life roleplaying modes. In Success mode, players will be able to create their own character and guide them on their way to becoming a Major Leaguer, developing their own stats, and making life choices to better their chances to reach the top level. In MLB Life mode, players will simulate a player's twenty-year career, not only by playing through baseball games, but by making life choices, including contract negotiation, improving relationships with teammates, and more.
MLB Power Pros 2008 is set to be one of the best baseball games to be released this year. The game will release on the Wii, PS2, and DS, in July 2008.
