Nintendo's next console will be the best

Synergized | April 29, 2008 | News | Nintendo 64 Wii Company
This article basically rambles on about the history of Nintendo, how they brought in the NES to shock the world, then they fast forward to this year, with the Nintendo Wii beating it's competition by millions of units. At first, this was believed to be rumor, but the author allegedly says that Nintendo is already working on things like 'head-mounted sensor bar' and to play downloaded virtual console games via your SD card. Whether he is pulling our leg or not, there is sure to be high-definition graphics involved. Can the new console beat the hot-selling Wii?
Just like it did 23 years ago Nintendo is changing the way that we play video games, and just like it did 15 years ago Nintendo will be releasing another console as this generation fades away and the next one comes into play. With the backing of so many new gamers and fans, Nintendo will be releasing a new console, a better console, that will be far more popular and exciting than the Super Nintendo was back in the 1990's. This next generation that we will be heading into within the next few years will probably be better than the golden years of the 16-bit era. This is an exciting time for gamers from all corners of the world as I have a good faith basis to believe that Nintendo's next generation console will be their best one to date.

Good, I hope it'll be better than the Wii. Not saying that it was bad, however.

Hopefully they'll screw the kids and have better Wifi.

Development of the next Nintendo console probably began soon after Wii's release. However, I doubt any solid progress has been made, and even if it has, there is no way it would be leaked to the public anytime soon.

To be honest, this article really says nothing, other than "Nintendo rulez, Wii 2 will be teh bomb!!!" It is fairly obvious to anyone with a brain that Nintendo will continue to produce consoles. The big mystery is whether Nintendo will continue with a more historic approach or if it will go off in a completly different direction.

If tradition holds, Nintendo 6 will basically be a Wii with improved technology. Nintendo systems tend to work in a two generation cycle, with the first of a pair of consoles creating some "revolution" in gaming, such as the NES in general and the Analog stick of N64, followed by a system similar to the previous, but with improved technology, like the SNES and GC. However, with the success of Wii with a lower tech standard, it is very likely that Nintendo will continue to go with cheaper, less powerful technology, instead relying on other innovations or gimmicks.

I agree with you completely. They do tend to add something new and fun to gaming, like with the Wii, the motion control. Virtual gaming would be pretty sweet. I read a book ages ago that was put in the future and you stepped into this arcade sort of machine and it's like a Role-Playing game where you're sort of 'implenting' into the game, sort of thing. Matrix anyone?

Its too far away to be making claims like this. Thats like saying PS4 and Xbox 720 will be the kings. Sure they are bound to be better than there predecessor but i doubt its going to blow anything away like this article suggest with Wii 2.

If it's going to be the best why are we bothering with the Wii? Get out this best console already.

Wow. What a stupid *bleep*ing article.

It seems a bit early to be thinking about this. The Wii could no doubt do a lot more than it is at the moment. Developers just need to think of more creative uses for it. It'll be good if interactivity takes another step with the next console though.

Wasn't it confirmed already that Nintendo started working on the next console even before the Wii was released? I'm pretty sure it was.

Wii 2 won't be big unless it has these 5 things.

    1. Mario HD to put up better competition.
    2. Better *bleep*ing 3rd Party titles.
    3. No shitty Mario Spin-offs. (Go Karts Okay)
    4. 10 New franchises. 2 must be violent.
    5. Drop some of the kiddie. Not all, some.

I really don't care about Nintendo's next thing. I am just praying every day that Sony and Microsoft do not put on the same hat as Miyamoto.

Why? You don't want them creating the greatest games ever made?

I don't want the entire industry to be Nintendo wannabes. Success in the consumer industry breeds clones. I do NOT want my favorite games to conform to Nintendo's style and I do not want powerful technology to stop being pushed.

          I see. Fair enough.

I don't think all 3 consoles next generation should feature motion control. I'd prefer if at least one of them keeps the original controls.
