BioShock For PS3 Believed To Be Coming Out This September

The PS3 version of BioShock should be coming this September, or at least thats what is being believed at the moment. It is said that it will feature enhanced graphics, those of which will be better than both the 360 and the PC version of the game. Whether or not this is just hype for the game is yet to be seen.
A PlayStation 3 version of 2K Boston and 2K Australia's story-driven underwater shooter BioShock will arrive this September, assuming rumors printed within the June issue of EGM are true.

According to the magazine and proven NeoGAF proxy SuperSonic 1305, the PlayStation 3 port will pack improved visuals over the previous PC and Xbox 360 editions along with the previously-released free downloadable content.

When reached for comment today, 2K Games told Shacknews it had "no comment" on the matter. A PlayStation 3 iteration of BioShock was denied by creator Ken Levine last August, though his phrasing only indicated the studio was not pursuing a PS3 version at that time.

EGM's writeup further states that the upcoming BioShock 2 will be unveiled around September as well. No platforms have been announced for the 2K Marin-developed sequel, though PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions are expected.

Oh sweet, if this is true, PS3 owners will luck out in the end.

I've a fear of commenting on this due to the high high probability that A) this is total BS, and B)there will be a 99-comment flame war to follow.

Well, there has been rumors about Bioshock coming to PS3 for six months now, so I doubt that is is total BS. Plus, if the makers stated "no comment" then it's obviously true. Why would they let people go under the impression that it's coming to PS3 when it's not. They would kill the rumour immediatly but they haven't so they're probably in talks or maybe already ready.

Ace Combat 6 has been rumored for PS3 since it came out for 360, but you don't see IT on PS3 shelves, do you?

Exactly. How long rumors have existed don't bring any form of validity to them. If anything, it's the exact opposite.

If true this would be very cool. Every gamer needs to experience BioShock!

Defintely. I played Bioshock on the 360 and it along with Gears are the only reasons I even think of buying the 360 someday. Bioshock was truly game of the year last year.

I might actually buy this again just for the hell of it if it has the extra plasmids and the graphics are even better. And of course if this is true.

Weird the PS3 version would come out after the PC version..
Still, very cool. If it comes out, I'll likely get it for the PS3 instead of the PC.

Considering that the PC version came out in August of last year, when PS3 wasn't even considered, how is it weird?

I would love for this to come to the PS3, I played it on the 360 and it was so much fun.

The "No comment" shit just made me a bit of a believer, really. I mean if this was straight out wrong...they would've come out and said it, right? Just like last time...this time they're holding something back...because "No comment" usually means "Fine, it's in the works but shut the hell up about it".

Really though. I find it hilarious how much "No comment" parallels "Yes, its true," these days. I wonder if any devs actually laugh about it behind the scenes.

Pretty much Sony says "No comment" Ends up being true. No price cuts, Boom price cutes. No this, Boom it appears. No new Sony PS3 SKU, Boom its appears. See the pattern. Now i know Sony didn't say this, but everytime someone says no comment 90% of the time it ends up being true.

I know they did ask for PS3 devs to help with games around February which SuperNouva posted around February. And I posted in the PS3 Bioshock forum.

        Interesting. I hope its true.

Oh, you hope it's true. There's a shocker. It's not like you've called the game 'nothing special' on numerous occasions.

Jesus Christ, just because you leave idiotic comments EVERYWHERE and I respond to them on the two forums I visit as well as the occasional GG article doesn't mean I follow you around. Don't flatter yourself. *bleep*ing crying out loud. You posted in this article AFTER me.

I'd have to hope so since the amount of people going "oh cool I've been waiting for this" is kinda sad.

If no comment = truth then we'd have a billion MS sku's running about including Blu-ray editions and hd-dvd editions with 5TB drives.

My friend got BioShock after I moved, so I never got to play it. If this new story is true, I have yet another game to add to my "to buy" list. Nice find, Akashi.

Every gamer needs to experience Bioshock, but with how tightly MS holds onto their precious exclusives, I highly doubt it will migrate to the PS3.

    Ever.

That's exactly what I've been saying. M$ will not hesitate if they need to completely buy out a company to hold onto exclusivity. I mean come on, they paid 5 Million for GTAIV's DLC, and that was just for starters.

Bioshock, I'm sure, will never come to PS3, not this one, not the sequel, not the one after.

Hey buying out exclusives is better than just letting them go. Its what drives your sales.

Like coke don't freely blurt out their recipe.

I fail to see how this hurts MS? Its not going to take anything away from MS now, the game been out for how long on the 360?
Its no different to GTA timed exclusive last gen. This is actually good news for the developers.
