It may be a bit redundant to say that Nintendo, armed with a big fishing net full of casual players, is doing very well in sales recently. You only need to look at last week's NPD report to see the company selling more than twice the units for both the Wii and DS (respectively) as any other hardware on the market.

So how do all those systems translate to cold, hard cash? According to a new report from GamesIndustry.biz, the answer is: $Ridiculous. The Q4 earnings results show that the company took in a total of more than $1 billion USD in the past year. Console sales made up almost half of the amount, barely edging out handheld revenue despite the higher price tag.
