America finds gays more offensive than severed heads

chautemoc | April 11, 2008 | News | Misc
What They Play, a parent-oriented gaming site recently conducted a poll, asking parents what they would find most offensive in a video game. The results, as you can see, are a little...strange.

Have to wonder how they'd feel about gays kissing and severing each others heads. Or a first person action game featuring a gay dude who severs people's heads. Impossible!

    Its only by one-percent.

I also do not see why sex is so looked down upon. I mean without it humans can't exist. It would also help in many of us getting some b00ty.

    HI-FIVE!*raises hand*

*high five* also in Borat accent

Actually I find gay sex hilarious...I'm not really offended by anything though.

Sexuality is pretty much what they can't handle...not just gay sexuality.

          Still *bleep*ed though...

Slumpy, it's because the US is so overloaded with Christian conservatives. >_>

Or people who are just plain homophobic

Honestly have you heard the amount of people who use the word gay as an insult? It's almost sad

Guticb Silver hit the nail on the head, they are homophobic not because of religion. Although i guess it could play a role.

Big deal 1%, i don't see why this is news?

I have plenty of gay friends so im not homophobic like some are.

The fact that sex is considered more offensive than violence has always confused me.

Nevermind gays, Sex in general is more offensive than a severed head? There's a shitload of hypocrites in that poll.

As Seexker X said there is a load of hypocrites in this poll though from this only a select percentage have been chosen so it is not really truly a reflection on what they feal.

So these parents are basically saying that they'd rather have their kids exposed to the destruction of life rather than the creation of it?

Hmm, super. Society has really fallen this much. So essentially, the mutilation/decapitation of a fellow man is less gruesome than the miracle of life. How quaint.

*Yawn*, alright, I guess I had better go to work. Those heads won't sever themselves, you know.

Wait wait wait. This makes a TON of sense people.

They've asked parents here. Not just random people, now I'm willing to bet that the majority of these parents (if not all of them) were heterosexual couples.

Now I'm not anti-homosexual, I mean if you must, do whatever you like. It's not my place to judge. But the fact is, it just doesn't work for the human race. At the end of the day, we're all just animals and our ultimate goal is to reproduce and ensure the human race continues on. That's it. Two males can't do this on their own, neither can two females. They should have thrown "Two girls kissing" into this survey.

Here's my stance. Is homosexuality okay? Sure. Is it right? No. More importantly, is it worth making a big deal of and trying to "fix" these people? *bleep* no. Everyone should do what makes them happy but it's definitely a trend I hope that doesn't catch on... for the sake of humanity really. (i know it's not a trend, bla bla bla whatever, it's just words)

Basically the reason this is so biased is because I would assume all heterosexual parents would want to see their children raised and become heterosexual people and get married and have children of their own. Isn't that most parents dream?

Yes, but I should hope that parents find gruesome displays they don't want copied into their children's minds more offensive than visuals of sex that hardly even show anything. I don't even know of any video games out at the moment promoting homosexuality.

Violence is all around us already. It's something that's expected to happen. Homosexuality isn't something that most people want to catch on and become some huge thing. That's the reason so many people are consistently against it. They're afraid if they let it go unchecked it will run rampant, as if some kind of disease.

Violence is already out of control.

Yes, but current violence in the world doesn't equate to the much less frequent decapitation of heads.

People who bitch about gay people have nothing better to do and are so in love with themselves that anyone whos diffrent is inferior.

Its quite the opposite though, I think. They're not really happy with themselves at all. If they were, they wouldnt be judgmental of other peoples choices in such a way.

I think you both are making pretty sweeping generalizations. I think both cases have an equal chance of being correct depending on the person because this has nothing to do with being in love with yourself or hating yourself.

I think it has more to come down with political correctness and what the majority of society deems right and wrong. So many things in this world we take for granted as truths and facts and rights when really they're not. Money for instance is worthless in value. As in a 100 dollar bill is equal to a 1 dollar bill in terms of material value. It's because you and I both agree that a 100 dollar bill is worth one hundred 1 dollar bills that it is worth so much. It is this agreeance between us that gives the 100 dollar bill it's value.

Same goes with societal sexuality. Homosexuality is worthless quite honest. I mean you're not contributing to us at all when you think about it. I'm not saying a homosexual person is a worthless human being, but what I am saying is that a homosexual relationship is. Heterosexual relationships bring with them biological children. Our economy thrives off children and just people in general. It's a cycle.

It's also quite simply not the way things were supposed to be. Strip away all of human kinds fancy features and take us back to just our animal instincts and look at the male and female body and clearly we were designed (if you believe by god or simply life itself and evolution) to fit together in a way that meant the continuation of our species. It's as simple as that. Man and woman were meant to be together. Period. Now what's really interesting when you think about it is that we can't strip away all the "fancy" things that make humans so much more than any other species. If we did that, this whole post I'm writing would be worthless.

It's a paradox of sorts but the solution is quite clear. Sure you can go back and forth; strip away everything where man and woman were clearly meant to be together but at the same time we should never strip away the stuff that makes us human and allows some the ability to love the same sex. That's the why the solution quite simply is, live your life and stop worry about others.

You know, this would've made sense if Sperm banks didn't exist. Nowadays you don't even have to be in a relationship AT ALL for your "seed" to have an "egg". Doesn't matter whether a homosexual relationship can't procreate (it's already known) what matters is that the relationship is AT LEAST respected, because some of the people that find it offensive are the people that are responsible for many prohibition laws against homosexuals.

I like reading the comment section in these types of articles. It shows me that humankind isn't all stupid.
This one was a goodie ...
