On March 17th, Sony will merge Europe's Playstation forums with the Playstation Network. You will use your PSN username to log into the forums starting on that day. Sony has set up a system to link your PSN and PS Forums account. This is an intriguing move. Sony has wanted, for a long time, to create a "Unified" Playstation Network, and this could very well be the first step. Could the US forums be next?
On 17 March 2008, the Forums will be joining forces with PLAYSTATION®Network. Soon, you will be able to use your PSN Sign In ID to log in to the Forums – so that’s one less password to remember!
In preparation for this update, you will need to link your Forum account to your PSN Account. This is a very easy process that should only take a few minutes of your time to complete:
Step 1
Log in to the community.eu.playstation.com Forums, using your normal Forum Username and password (if you are already logged in to the Forums, you will need to log out first).
Step 2
Once you’ve logged in, you should see a message asking you to click on a link to either create a new PSN account if you don’t already have one, or sign in to an existing PSN account if you’ve previously registered. Click whichever link best applies to you.
Step 3
You will now either need to sign-in to an existing PSN account, or register a new one. Please note that anyone under 18 years of age without an existing PSN account will need to ask a parent or guardian to register a PSN Master Account and then create a Sub Account for you to use.
And that’s it!
Your Forum Username, email address and password will remain unchanged until 17 March, so please continue to use your normal login details for the forums for the time being. After 17 March, you will need to use your PSN Sign In ID and password to log in to the Forums.
