However, I do think that Killzone 2 is a failure. At least in some small way after the E3 2005 video that was, if memory serves, claimed to be real for about a week. It still looks pretty good, but nowhere near that video.
Adding to that how lackluster the original Killzone was. Given the question, and it's wording. I don't fault him at all for expressing frustration in his reply. However, he has to understand that Killzone has kinda started in a hole. By being hyped tremendously and following a game that was very average.
But they have failed to meet the promises of the E3 05 video. So in a small way they have failed.
I don't mean the game in any way. I haven't played it to know whether or not it is in fact a failure of classic.
He even pointed out Seproth that they were never Guerilla Games themselves was never saying or even alluding to the fact that the E305 demo was what the final game was going to look like, it was all due to an over zealous Sony correspondent.
No one can say anything about Killzone 2, the fact that some nobody that has only seen as much footage as the rest of us, that being about 2 minutes total thinks he knows how good a game is going to be is pure nonsense. It's absolutely outrageous.
Just for the sake of argument let's compare what we've seen of Killzone 2 and what we've seen of Eight Days so far. Eight Days doesn't even look promising where as Killzone 2 actually does, and not only that, we've seen far less of Eight Days than Killzone 2.
I have to stop myself now because this whole argument is just *bleep*ing stupid.
Microsoft pulled that shit awhile ago too. When Bill Gates said Halo 3 would release the date the PS3 went on sale. It wasn't a huge deal then either, but Sony is their employer and it's up to them to make good on promises even if, they themselves, didn't actually make them. *which is limited of course to publishers, and those close to the development*
If any game is a failure, however, it's Gundam Crossfire...lol.
I also wouldn't call the first Killzone 'average'. I for one enjoyed the hell out of it.
I have indeed said that Killzone 1 wasn't great, and why should the sequel be any better, but that was before I decided to research and ask around.
