IGN takes the concept of Super Smash Brothers and makes a list of the top characters for a PlayStation version of a multi franchise cross-over. While this is supposed to be a bit of a parody, the "Sony Skills" actually sound like they would work if a game like this was ever made. If they went the extra mile to get specific with each character's moves, it would make a perfectly legitimate rip off.
Liquid's Hand
From: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Sony Skill: Revolver Blast
Why?: Anyone who played Metal Gear Solid remembers how badass Revolver Ocelot was as he shot it up with Snake and twirled his pistols. However, when Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty showed up, we saw Revolver beaten by the most unexpected of foes -- Liquid Snake's hand. If those five digits have that kind of power, they need to be in this game. You'd select the hand as your fighter and then attach it to whichever character you wanted. The character would then talk like Liquid and have the brutal Revolver Blast finisher.
Wander
From: Shadow of the Colossus
Sony Skill: Weak Spot Stab
Why?: With a sword and bow, Wander took down beasts that were larger than most buildings -- if that doesn't prove you deserve a spot in this brawler, we don't know what does. Our main man would pack his traditional weapons, and after wearing a foe down, the Sony Skill known as Weak Spot Stab -- the screen goes black and white except for a glowing location on a character where Wander can strike for an instant kill -- would go into effect.
Jak and Daxter
From: Jak Series
Sony Skill: Ottsel Smother
Why?: After pounding their way through three titles filled with Dark Eco, enemies and one-liners, Jak and Daxter are ready for the big leagues. Now, don't get your panties in a bunch, young reader. Daxter would sit on Jak's shoulder for most of the battle and just mouth off in the sort-of-funny/kind-of-annoying way while the big guy threw punches and switched back and forth between his suped-up alter ego, but when the Sony Skill meter was full, Jak would be able to hurl Daxter onto the opponent's face and smother him into submission.
Nariko
From: Heavenly Sword
Sony Skill: Blinding Sword Light
Why?: Nariko made her powerful debut fighting against the sinister legions of King Bohan. Casting her own life away, Nariko chooses to wield the Heavenly Sword, a blade of unparalleled power that drains the life of those who carry it. Nariko's Sony Skill, Blinding Sword Light, channels her energy into the Heavenly Sword, lengthening the blade into an iridescent beam of light. Unfortunately, this weakens the warrior for a time afterwards, but not without first causing tremendous damage.
Sweet Tooth
From: Twisted Metal
Sony Skill:Fender Bender
Why?: Sure, most of your nightmares involve Sweet Tooth running you down while he's in his ice cream truck, but this psychotic clown is just as deadly on foot. Aside from the standard punches and teeth jarring kicks, Sweet Tooth can chuck flaming tires and spit oil at will. When the Sony Skill meter is full, he can press a button on his trusty remote to have his truck roll through and squish the competition.
Kratos
From: God of War
Sony Skill: Slice and Dice
Why?: The man kills gods. That's going to make Kratos a pretty hot commodity in Super Sony Bros. Brawl. Packing his trusty Blades of Chaos, Kratos will brawl through the competition and string together the same insane combos fans have come to know. When his Sony Skill is ready, he'll launch an opponent into the air and lay waste with the blades. Bring an umbrella.

I don't see why not...I'd gladly pay for a game like this.
PS = I'm going to assassinate you, and it is going to be MESSY....
Nintendo = I'm going to jump on your head, and you're going to just disappear, no blood or anything icky....
Now, that is just a generalization....But still >_>
Sony doesn't have enough characters to draw on....Though I suppose they could just make a more serious version of this type of gameplay, where instead of just 'clean' looking fun, you got fatalities and stuff >_>
And not enough characters? You must be kidding me. They've only pointed out the main characters of each series (and not even all of them), what's to stop them from using the other characters of the franchises as well?
i would love to see a game like this although could do with more characters e.g snake, altair, dante, nero, trish, burnout cars
If you're gonna bring a picket sign of complaint to every news article YOU deem unworthy, I can think of plenty others that are actually worth your time in doing so.
my character would definitely have to Kratos...
