Everyone I've spoken to about the controls on 360 loved them.
As did I.
Sony will spank MS in Japan. No doubt about it.
I was talking about the controls on the 360 (demo) and they were great.
And I did have my doubts as to how well it would work with the 360 controller.
These were unfounded as the controls are *bleep*ing awesome.
As good, if not better, than the DMC1-3 on the PS2.
And I doubt there would be much difference between DMC 1-3 and 4 seeing as the PS2 and PS3 controllers only differ in small aspects.
jmac353, there's a difference. Japan wouldn't buy 360s if they could blow you during loading screens. They blindly hate it. 'America' buys BOTH the 360 and the PS3, so it's a better judge in this kind of situation. It's like exclusively asking hardcore redneck conservatives if they like Ronald Reagan or Bill Clinton: of COURSE you're going to get biased results.
Also, why did Krunal get thumbs-down? His post made perfect sense.
The game series was home to the Sony consoles from the start, so I'd assume that those who wanted this game anticipated it on being PS3 only, or they just prefer the PS3-type games. I'd get it for the 360 but since that went in for repairs just last week, I'll get it for the PS3.
And yet it always happens to me, funny isn't.
Still this isn't a surprise, its in Japan. Although they have said the PS3 version is clearer and feels better compared to 360. The Devs said this.
However lets see how the sales go tomorrow for the U.S i suspect if anything its going to be 2:1 for PS3. But thats my opinion and definitely not factual by any means.
*waits for the feature where I can see who thumbed me down, and exact revenge*
But Jmac, your post was quite harsh.
Niceness goes a long way man.
I get a laugh whenever people say that Japan doesn't want to support something that is American. So the Japanese people love American TV, American stars, American music, American movies, etc. ... yet they don't like Xbox because it's American? Yeah, whatever
I believe there was an article posted on Gamegrep a while ago where a large group of Japanese gamers were surveyed about the reasons they weren't interested in XBox, and being American had nothing to do with it. The lack of interest was, as mentioned above, mostly due to the XBox and it's games seemingly being aimed towards the American market only. The Japanese don't feel like it's a console they would enjoy to play, because they don't feel as though Microsoft Japan is trying hard enough to market it towards the Japanese gamers.
I'll try to dig the article up if I can find it.
Edit: Bah. Couldn't find the exact article after all. But this one gives a brief outline of the problem, and the types of XBox games that Japan are interested in.
p.s. Oh yay, I got thumbed down for this.
There's a general anti-Xbox attitude in Japan. Is that SO ignorant to say?
For me, if I wanted DMC4 I have a PS3, I can get it for that, same with Eternal Sonata. Blue Dragon got crap reviews, and not too sure about Lost Odyssey, but I doubt people will buy a console for a handful of games when they can just get another console and a whole lot more games.
I mean, reading Seeker X's post, which I 100% agree with, I'm obviously not the only one.
Another RPG (multi-platform actually) which has interested many is Oblivion. I've yet to find it to play it, unfortunately it's sold out in most places
I can't wait to see what the sales will be like here in the US.
