Eidos' funky monster game looks fun

wohoo | January 30, 2008 | News | Wii DS
In Eidos' Monster Lab, the player can build their own monster and set out to explore the land with with. Gamers will also be able to play with their friends and either fight or trade in the multiplayer part of the game.
Eidos has sent out a trailer and a handful of screenshots from their upcoming mad scientist action RPG, coming to Wii and DS some time this year.

In Monster Lab, you’ll be taking the role of an apprentice scientist and must create your own unique monster through experimentation. You’ll then take control of your Frankenstein look-alike and start exploring the land to find ways to beef up your monster, hunt down other monsters, uncover quests and compete in the all mini-games the game has to offer.

The game also has multiplayer, allowing you you to kick your friends’ monsters butts, or you can trade monster parts with them to build the stongest beast possible. Check out the new trailer above and then head to our Monster Lab gallery for the screenshots.

Fabien Rossini, Global Brand Controller, Eidos: “Monster Lab will offer a wealth of fresh ideas to both Wii and DS players. These include gesture based combat, a compelling on-line fighting and trading system and total customization of the player’s monster.”

Actually I was thinking a while back how amazing a cross between Spore and Pokemon would be like... not quite what I had in mind but I like it.
