Analyst: Xbox 3 will give Microsoft market domination

mistermostyn | January 14, 2008 | News | XBOX 360
If Microsoft is seeking market domination in the gaming arena, then any new hardware released ahead of Sony will likely deliver it, according to a speculative report published today.
Citing Sony’s current weakness as a potentially crippling factor in terms of response, Everiss reaches deep into the mystical mists in order to describe any new Xbox as including "a gesture interface and probably integration with a new handheld game console," that could deliver "a knockout blow that could give them market supremacy."

If they [Microsoft] can keep up with what they were able to do last year, releasing a great line-up of games and helping their customers with the three-year RRoD warranty, it would be pretty hard to deny this 'analyst.'

Let's just hope that they actually put in Wi-Fi in the next console, and a built-in HD player instead of trying to get extra sales out of them.

HD will be dead by the time the new consoles come out, if anything it will be a Blu-ray drive.

Im hoping that developers switch to putting games on blu-ray. With the massive amount of storage capacity, games would be insane. Think of the amount of content an RPG could have *Drools*

      Blu-Ray is a form of HD too...I didn't say HD-DVD.

Keywords, "released ahead of Sony." No matter how you feel about Sony/Playstation and no matter how you feel about the red ring of death, as far as market share goes, getting the 360 into stores so early was a brilliant move. But, it really still depends on how this generation, which is far from over, ends up. If you want to talk about domination, Microsoft is still far behind Sony.

Market Analysts: "The Wii will fail utterly and the PS3 will dominate the market. Good thing I can say anything I want and not get fired for completely wrong guesses"

I'd LOVE to get paid to make BS guesses all day. "Toasters will be more popular than ovens next year!"

When was the PS3, XBOX360, and Wii announced? Like 2006 right? So that makes it a 4 year old cliche that still hasnt come true.

Oh, please. I personally will judge each console as it comes out, but saying that Microsoft will wave a flag over Sony is just as valid as saying Nintendo's 64 Bit system was going to kick the PSX's ass, and we all know how that turned out...
