Own a copy of GTA III signed by Jack Thompson

wohoo | December 31, 2007 | News | Playstation 2
Want to own a piece of ironic gaming history? Then all you have to do is pay $4000 for a copy of GTA III signed by Jack Thompson. All of the money will go to the Child's Play video game charity.
A guy who attended Jack Thompson’s open panel debate about violence in video games at the VideoGame Expo in Philadelphia, had a PS2 copy of Grand Theft Auto III signed by everyones favorite video game lawyer and is now selling it on eBay for a hefty sum.

Who in their right mind would buy this? Maybe to get a day of fame I suppose, but that's by far the most ridiculous way to get funds for donation. Thompson signing a Rocktstar game, for one, something that he's fighting against.

I agree, charity is the key word... besides there is bound to be some idiot who will buy it.

I know it's for charity. I'm just stating that it's pathetic way of getting funds for it. All gamers should know Thompson and what he's trying to accomplish, so of all the 'fund-raisers' why a game? Especially a Rockstar game?

You guys do realize it isn't authentic. Some one at the charity center forged his name just to get money, quite sad really. The fact is why would JT sign a game and from a company he dislikes. And using it to blame it for shootings.

    I call bullshit.

I agree with Finalblade. This seems a little too outlandish to be authentic. I mean, c'mon, this is Jack Thompson! - The man who blames practically every school and college shooting on this very game series. Does anyone honestly believe he would gladly sign a copy of GTA? That would go against years of his battling of the GTA series.

The title of this article is oxymoronic in itself.

Yes I doubt that's real. I mean anyone can sign something and say it's by someone famous.

Whoever pays for that needs to be slapped

Yep. Quite doubt it's real. Why would dear ol' Thompson :sarcasm: sign a copy of GTAIII?

I'm hoping the 'real' person who the signature should be of, finds out, because this is completely pathetic.

This is both sad and disgusting at the same time... having his signature on it decreases the value of this classic.

OK, this may be for charity but I would not pay $4000 for that. Hopefully someone will buy it and help out the charity.
