Most HD Game Resolutions Not Even 720p Let Alone 1080p

gamebrink | November 15, 2007 | News | Playstation 3 XBOX 360
Well it turns out that when a game box says that it runs in 720p or 1080p it’s not entirely true. Sure you can set it to that resolution but the actual game output resolution is rarely exactly that.

    No offense, but we know.

No game on the 360 runs at native 1080p, and only 2 PS3 games run completely native 1080p (Lair, and another one)

The 360 has two games at native 1080p: Street Home Court and Virtual Tennis 3. The ps3 has about 17 games (many are only available at PSN Store). As Dezvous posted many are the arcade type games.

It's called a native resolution and usually only the arcade type games run at full 1080p. You can tell the difference between an upscaled 1080p and a native 1080p quite easily.

Not many 360 games run at native 720p I think is the point. Well Halo 3 runs at somethign like 640p, and is upscaled the rest.
