SSBB Stage: Norfair

Glotnot | November 09, 2007 | News | Wii
Norfair is Samus' stage in the ne installment of the SSB series, SSB: Brawl.

It has only five platforms and lava coming from all directions. Sometimes it will randomly flow dow on the screen.....However, when it does so, an 'emergency hatch' opens as well, keeping whoever gets inside safe from harm. It will then close, locking all others out.

In the very least, it sounds like an extremely interesting survival level.
Norfair is the location in Metroid where the enemy boss Ridley was. There was a lot of lava, and it seemed like a rather hot area.

Whoa! That looks hot.

As you can imagine, the lava level will indeed rise and cover the platforms. It’s dangerous to touch it.

That dangerous-to-the-touch lava comes flowing from a number of places, so be careful.

The tension rises. Yes.

When the lava wave appears, a single safe area will also appear. If you can get in, you’ll be safe...but surely there will be quite a battle for that spot. Yet another bit of back and forth.

It even has hatches that close in emergencies. Ahh.

You can barely dodge the massive lava wave with a great jump, but it’s a little difficult. Besides, you KNOW you want to win the battle for that safe area.

Looks ok. Not as good as the last stages but we'll have to see.

Not my type of level personally, I like a flat field where I don't have distractions, but this looks fun, I like the hatch you can go into. I can see some interesting fights ahead for me on that stage...

Oh, it looks okay. Just another average Samus stage, really.

    I lol'd at Deathwind's.

But this is pretty much the story of the Samus Aran Level's lives. It's all over the place and broken apart.

Sounds like it will be a very interesting level, that will require careful plotting and strategy.

Personally I think this is just Brinstar all over again, yet with more platforms and a bottom that isn't solid. :\

The hatch is a nice twist. It adds more to the boring Brinstar tbh.

This is gonna be a cool stage. With lava shooting everywhere, and only one safe spot; it's gonna be really chaotic.

I'm surprised how Nintendo keeps feeding us what we wan't; interesting levels. Brinstar truly was a boring level, and this adds a nice feature. A non-solid bottom adds for more aeriel play.

At least it isn't Final Destination.

Final Destination was in my opinion, the greatest level in Melee. However, this is a nice twist from the plain stages.

This stage looks pretty awesome. Like many I agree that Brinstar was pretty boring and I rarely played on it. The use of lava and the hatch will make it great fun to play on.
