Another Metal Gear Solid Character Confirmed For Smash Bros!

ITANI | November 07, 2007 | News | Wii
Yes you read that right, if Solid Snake wasn't enough for you another MGS character has now been confirmed. That character is the awesome Grey Fox.

Unfortunately Grey Fox is only a assist character where in a level he enters performs a combo on the character that gets in his way and exits.

Hopefully more characters to be confirmed before the release of this game.
Solid Snake wasn't enough for Super Smash Bros. Brawl's star-studied roster; a second Metal Gear Solid character, the uni-eyed Grey Fox has joined the fight! But unfortunately you won't be able to play as him...

Super Smash Brothers kicks ass! It's just not worth the purchase of a Wii. The Wii is cheap no doubt, but it's still too much money to spend just on a console that will sit around after a couple of weeks of me getting tired of playing SSBB.

I'm even a huge MGS fan, HUGE and Gray Fox actually sounds way cooler to play as in SSBB rather than SS to be honest. People with swords in SSB always kick ass.

I don't like SSB, period. I never understood what the hype is about. SSBB looks better than the others, way better, but to me its still just a frantic button mashing frenzy. There's almost no cohesiveness to the gameplay at all and I cannot even call it a fighting game. I just don't like it at all.

Actually iLLmatic, it requires a lot of strategy to play well. There are near infinite strategies for moving, attacking, and anticipating your opponent's moves.

Looks cool. I'm an MGS fan, but I still wouldn't buy a Wii just for Brawl.

Nuuu! I was hoping he'd be my Fox replacement, because I need an overly fast character to play as. Meh, I'm not bothered about these assist characters .___. why not just have them playable!

GAY! WTF!? Why did they make him an assist trophy!?!?! Grey Fox rules! I mean its cool he's in the game, but as an assist trophy? NOT COOL.

Oooh Frank Jaeger left behind...that's gotta hurt guys, the Gray Fox himself...even though I'm pretty sure not that many people know him well. In any case it was a good idea to involve him, now all that's missing is Liquid's Hind D "Air Raid", Revolver Ocelot's "Shooting Spree", Sniper Wolf's "One shot kill". =/

Though Gray Fox would have been even better as a playable character, being an assist trophy is still damn awesome. I loved the cutscenes involving him in MGS: Twin Snakes, and he is just overall a cool game character.

Can't wait to see him start chopping up my opponents.

I see more reasons to wait for Brawl now. Though I don't know this guy, it is good to know that Solid Snake won't be alone at all.

As long as they don't put Raiden in the game.

What's wrong with Raiden? He's a very kickass character. He's been fighting and handling firearms since he was a kid, so yeah, he could kick a lot of ass.

He ruined MGS2 with his whiney non-Snake-ness.

After seeing the images, I was hoping that Grey Fox would be an actual character, but unfortunately that is not the case. Nontheless, I am pleased to see that Nintendo is adding more characters from other gaming series, even if the characters are only assist characters.
