IGN - WWE Smackdown 2008 Conspiracy

ElChibo | October 09, 2007 | News | Playstation 2 Playstation 3 Company Misc
WWE Smackdown 2008 is appearing all over IGN's most popular game lists, the problem is that nearly every version of it is #1 on the lists. Somehow the DS, PS2, PSP, Wii, PS3, and mobile versions of the game are the most popular games on the site, beating out far more popular games such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, Phantom Hourglass, and more. Something isn't right here...
I’m sure plenty of us have wondered if money has exchanged hands between developers and review sites, or if they work for one another such as the absolute one-track minded Sony Defense Force, or other big-name biased sites, but this is really a different story. IGN is probably the biggest gaming site on the net with respectable reviewers for all systems, and I can’t really think of any other explanation for WWE Smackdown being rated so high besides THQ paying IGN to bump it up the list.

They've had a LOT of articles on the games lately and people are obviously reading them. Why is this a conspiracy? I mean seriously, are game site reporters so pathetic in their lives that this is the most interesting thing for them to write about?

You really think that more people are interested in this game over everything else...

Who would buy this over phantom hour glass on ds.
      or over Assassins Creed.

Having said that I really am looking forward to this game. Not more than Mass Effect though.

It may not be a conspiracy but it's one helluva coincidence to be on top of every console. Wouldn't you agree?

Yeah. I mean, I can see it being on top of the PS3 one, maybe even PSP...but the other's just don't add up, unless there's no hype over there for Assassin's Creed, Brawl, Phantom HourGlass, etc..

Money didn't exchange hands, I'm fairly confident that one person wired the money directly to the account, and so the other person didn't need to use his hands to "pick up the cash".
