Why Bungie Left Microsoft?

ITANI | October 07, 2007 | News | XBOX 360 Company
It seems that Microsoft is known bad on how it treats it's partners and this situation isn't really different.

Back in 2005 Fusio announced a new Halo title that will arrive on mobile applications. Once Microsoft saw the deal it was instantly terminated. The reason it was terminated was because Fusio has still yet to make their second payment of 500,000$. Fusio retaliated by saying that the reason they did not pay the second payment is because Microsoft has still yet to live up to it's own obligations. Discouraging Fusio on making their second payment, what were these obligations? They were really simple. The company had created numerous Halo designs and game concepts but Microsoft refused every single one or ignored them without explaining the reasons. So imagine how Bungie put up with the 7 years at Microsoft? Microsoft bought Bungie back in they year 2000, so Bungie was pretty patient I guess.
You didn’t think Bungie’s long-time relationship with the Redmond behemoth was all roses and kisses, did you?

Certainly a terrible way to do business. I hope Microsoft learns a lesson from this. You can't treat your partners like trash and expect them to stick around. I hope the best for Bungie and whatever they work on next. Heh...

Well that Halo title looks pretty cool, I think they should have kept it. Well, I bet they learned their lesson and won't do bussiness like this again.
