Saints Row 2 to Be Darker, Have Sandbox Features

Saints Row was a well received game that added multiplayer to the successful GTA formula. Now with the sequel in full swing, Volition looks to go down a little different path from the first game.

They are also going for a darker tone in the main storyline this time around. Your character is coming back after being left for dead, and he is looking for a little payback this time around. Volition says that you will see some of the humor from the first game make a return, but it will just have a more sinister feel to the game overall.

Just because the man has been left for dead doesnt mean its going to be darker. Just about all crime games start with them being left for dead

Volition have stated the game is going to be more dark and sinister, probably to combat with GTA IV considering now they are coming out at pretty much the same time... Though if Volition can pull off this sandbox editor they have it won, why wait for downloads when you can just make it and add it to your own game.

I just hope they get it through their heads that "dark and sinister" means more dramatic, cold blooded killing than random drive bys with an uzi.

Meh, I never really took a liking to Saints Row. I like GTA much more.
