BioShock ends summer quality drought

mistermostyn | August 19, 2007 | News | PC Playstation 2
The review score shadow presently being cast by BioShock is vast... and GamerSquad feels a little sorry for any other game attempting to secure retail trade this week. That said, there are some impressive titles on offer along with BioShock, and they are: Blue Dragon, Moto GP 07, Dave Mirra BMX Challenge, Brunswick Pro Bowling, and Two Worlds (if it doesn't slip... again).
Well, it’s probably wise to avoid spilling into a tirade of joyous expletives, but let’s just say that the long-awaited arrival of a certain watery FPS truly marks the end of the summer and the beginning of an extremely high-quality end of year run in…which starts this week with BioShock, of course, on Xbox 360 and PC.

However, when it comes to decent next-gen titles, this week isn’t merely a point of focus for Irrational and 2K Games’ underwater epic. No, not at all. Indeed, other notable releases slamming onto retail shelves include...

Reading the whole of the weekly new release article would reveal that the random picture is, in fact, taken from Blue Dragon, which also finds its way to retailers this week.

No shit, I never said I didn't know what game it was, I know it is Blue Dragon.

Point being the articles title leads me to believe the entire article is about BioShock ending the summer drought of quality titles, hmm isn't that what I was supposed to get from it? Not Blue Dragon and other games.

Try more accurate titles next time, oh, and there is a reply button.

I agree with you here, makes the article rather miss-leading...

However I do agree Bioshock is going to end the summer drought, looks set to be an amazing game that will sell by the dozen when it comes out tomorrow in US.

I don't think that's what they mean, JJBdude. They mean that there are some big titles coming out after a dull summer, with Bioshock being the first AAA title. Therefore, the draught ended. Does look amazing, though.

Aye, good week. Blue Dragon looks interesting, and I might get Bioshock for the PC if I can't get a 360 anytime soon. Is there a PC demo coming out for that anytime soon? I heard them confirm it, then take it back .

    <3 Super Metroid <3

If you live in North America then I believe you can download a demo tonight.

And Brunswick Pro Bowling? Come on...

Well obviously Summer is a bad time for games. BioShock isn't the only good game heading to us for the end of August, though.
