Peter Moore To Earn More Than US President

xsynergyx | July 17, 2007 | News | PC Xbox Company Gaming Tech/Hardware
Electronics Arts sure is welcoming Peter Moore well. They're giving him an annual salary of $550,000 and also offering a big bonus of $1.5 billion. Moore is a lucky guy.

Regarding the $1.5 million bonus, the filing stated that even though he will earn the one-time bonus after working a good two years at EA, he will actually get the bonus within 30 days of starting. However, if he voluntarily leaves EA before the two years is complete, he will have to repay EA the full amount.

Among the ridiculous bonus and salary, he will also receive 350,000 shares of the company's common stock, 50,0000 restricted stock units and $330,000 for relocation-related expenses. Since 1999, the President of the US got an annual salary of $400,000. Apparently, gaming is more important than an entire country.
So all told, the upfront cost for EA to bring on Peter Moore will be nearly $2.4 million. We're not sure how much he was paid while at Microsoft, but EA certainly went above and beyond, New York Yankees style if you will.

Yeah just read this one. EA sure knows how to seal a deal, that's for sure. Good god...$550,000 annually? Peter Moore is one hell of a lucky guy, no doubt.

That's a whole lot of money.

I do want to mention, the President's salary is a little misleading. Yes, he doesn't get a ton of money, but he has no expenses. All his food, activities, travel, wardrobe, ect. is paid for already.

My god, $550,000 a year, a $1.5 billion bonus, and 350,000 shares of stock ? This sounds like a bribe he accepted to leave Microsoft and join them.
