Kojima raises a glass to 20 years of Metal Gear

mistermostyn | July 04, 2007 | News | Playstation 2 Playstation 3
While some might suggest that Ubisoft's Sam Fisher is the king of gaming stealth, the one true king - regardless of any past failings - remains a certain Mr. Solid Snake from Kojima. As the Metal Gear Solid franchise approaches the 20-year marker, its creator offers up insight into its history and effects.
The Metal Gear Solid series will celebrate its 20th anniversary next week, and franchise creator Hideo Kojima has been chatting to Weekly Famitsu magazine about the occasion. GamerSquad takes a closer look at the man behind the Snake.

The Metal Gear Solid games have definitely gotten better over time, but I never really though that he'd be celebrating his 20th anniversary this year ^^

Nobody approaches games like Kojima. The industry needs him. Congratulations on 20 strong years.

I am kinda glad the series are ending... The first two installments were okay, the rest have gone downhill.

don't listen to him, he obviously hates it. MGS is the best they should continue the series.

    Rest have gone downhill???

MGS3 = Best Original Vocal Song - Pop, Best PS2 Game at 2005's Game Convention in Germany, David Hayter, voice of Snake, was nominated for the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences award for "Outstanding Achievement in Character Performance

Subsistence = Best online game for the PlayStation 2 in December 2006

Portable Ops = Best Story on PlayStation Portable in 2006, Best Downloadable Content on PlayStation Portable in 2006, Numerous reader's choice awards, including Best PlayStation Portable game in 2006, Received GameSpot's award for best PlayStation Portable game of 2006, Received Game Informer's award for Handheld Game of the Month for February 2007

And I agree with al of it because I've played them all. MGS3 was severely underappreciated btw.

It would suck if Kojima retires. What will there be left for MGS?
