Sega delays Sonic Unleashed for Japan only, making improvements

chautemoc | November 10, 2008 | News | Playstation 2 Playstation 3
According to Siliconera's look at the Japanese Sonic Unleashed website, the game will be delayed, but for Japan only. The reason? To improve the quality of the title. Makes you wonder what kind of version we'll be getting...

Sonic Unleashed is due in Europe and North America this month (the exact date depends which console you have) -- for some, this week.
Something strange is going on with Sonic Unleashed, better known as Sonic World Adventure in Japan. Instead of coming out on December 18th Sonic Unleashed won’t be released on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 in Japan until spring 2009. The official Sonic World Adventure page explains the extra time will be used to further improve the quality of the game. Meanwhile, the Wii version isn’t affected and the Night of the Werehog T-shirt in Sega’s Winter campaign is still valid.

So, is Sega USA going to announce a last minute delay? Or is Sega Japan getting a retooled version of Sonic Unleashed?

I just saw a commercial for the game today. It didn't look to bad. I am just hoping they don't pull what they did in Shadow The Hedgehog or Sonic The Hedgehog (360, PS3)
