IGN Staff simply could not hold off the announcement so they've gone and made it, the top Nintendo DS game for September 2008!
The winner is Lock's Quest, followed by the members choice of Kirby Super Star Ultra and the runner up Disgaea DS.
Each was given a game profile including name, publisher, developed, release date and then the reasons behind their choices.
Are these games matching what you would believe to be game of the month?
Other games which were deemed worthy of noting included:
- Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Chronicles
- Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir
- Viva Pinata
- Line Rider 2: Unbound
There were a lot of prospects on DS this month, but when all was said and done, it was developer 5th Cell that we again chose to spotlight, as Lock's Quest is not only one of the most innovative and entertaining games on DS this month, but one of the top this year as well. Mixing together a design inspired by popular real-time strategy games, classic tower defense tactics, and traditional RPGs, Lock's Quest is an original blend of classic gaming and originality. During the first half of the game, the touch-controlled construction and combat mechanic drives the initial character development, while the back half of the game embraces the main design, but takes time to really flesh out the story and deliver character development worth playing for. Added multiplayer support for local player vs. player combat gives us flashbacks to the competitive Rampart matches of old, and while we'll take what we got this time around, we know we're not alone in wanting much, much more in a sequel. Two DS titles from 5th Cell, and two unique, imaginative packages well worth your cash. Buy Lock's Quest, and then keep an eye out on this ambitious developer. 5th Cell is just getting warmed up.

As for Lock's Quest it also seemed quite the obvious choice, though I'm surprised the Sonic game didn't make it.
