God Of War 3's Story Will Be Loooong

Linkin Park Fan | September 16, 2008 | News | Playstation 3
Some interesting news for God Of War 3's script. It is apparently is 120 pages, which is quite long for a video game script. Especially when the main character isn't the biggest talker. It will also fallow different story telling table. It will go by the beginning act, middle act, and conclusion act. As apposed to the typical opening sequence, game, closing sequence story telling.
Writer Marianne Krawczyk has revealed the script she's working on for God of War III will probably run to 120 pages.

But for God of War III there will be proper rehearsals and readings. Which might take some time, if there are 120 pages to get through. According to Krawczyk, the storyline will be "a very specific three-act experience".

Hopefully this will mean that the game itself is long aswell. I for one will be disappointed if half the play time is taken up by watching cut scenes.

I think I've never played a God of War game for more than 10 hours. So hopefully this will be different.

Total is a different story cause I played them multiple times. It's nice to know it should be longer though.

I've been a moderate fan of the God of War series. I think they're both good games, but one of my biggest complaints is the length which is shorter than both Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden, which is its competition. I have some other problems with the games but thats my main issue, if this is addressed than I might get it at 60 bucks instead of waiting for the price to drop like I did for the other games because how the games can be beaten in a measly 8 hours.

I think there are some variables you're missing there. The length of the game is something a lot of people can agree on but compared to Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden? DMC's gameplay consists of being trapped in an area until its cleaned out so you can move on to the next and do the same thing...and NG's gameplay's mostly about incredibly *bleep*ing hard enemies that make you restart every single checkpoint you have till you make it through. Now when you think about it like that, there's not much to compare.

What are you talking about? They're still action games, they're still in the same genre. Also, there are alot of instances in God of War that stick you in an area that forces you to clean it out till the enemies are gone, and so does Ninja Gaiden. Also DMC games are quite hard, expecially on Dante Must Die mode. Granted Ninja Gaiden is harder, but really this has nothing to do with what I was comparing, the lengths of the 3 game series. I was simply comparing them becasue they're in the same genre and that God of War was the shortest.

God of War's games never consisted of cleaning out areas. Obviously it will have those parts, but it's balanced between action, and elaborate puzzles. The reason I brought that up with DMC is because the repetition is the reason why the game is longer. NG's reason is because the difficulty is just ridiculous...and I'm willing to bet my entire bank account that if the game's difficulty wasn't exaggerated, people would've been able to beat that game around HALF or even ONE THIRD of the total time they got in their first playthrough.

For a long game, I'll prefer Grand Theft Auto than Call of Duty on Veteran mode, if you know what I mean.

God Of War I was certainly short, but the average completion time for God Of War II can run anywhere between 14 and 20 hours. It was a very good length for an action game.

The supposed time for both god of war games was said around 9 hours, yet somehow everyone came in different times. I landed on both 20 hours. Perfect about of time for an action game, so I see no issues with it. Same for CoO and I got over 10 hours.
