You thought 360 FFXIII Was bad? Read on..

On Vacation | July 25, 2008 | News | PC Playstation 3
Fanboys parents across the world better go hide their razors AGAIN this week. Apparently, As if the loss of a PS3 only exclusive to Xbox just isn't enough for Sqaure-enix, they just announced that BOTH of the console versions are merely ports of a secret PC version!
Everybody thought that Square Enix emptied their surprise pack for the year when they announced Final Fantasy XIII for Xbox 360 consoles during the E3 media
summit. Apparently, the company still had other surprises, but wanted to wait a bit more to reveal them. The time has come: Final Fantasy XIII has been officially announced for PC systems. Yes, we're talking about the same game that was, until last week, a PlayStation 3 exclusive!

An even more interesting thing is the fact that, unlike some people might expect, the PC version of FFXIII will not be a console port, but rather the Xbox 360 and PS3 variants will be ports of the PC game. Also, at the moment, according to game producer Yoshinori Kitase, just the PC version is functional, with the PS3 one in the works and the Xbox 360 one on the waiting list.

Stupid article. This is just a misinterpretation of something that Kotaku wrote during the E3 SquareEnix Q&A.

A lot of games are developed using the PC, Devil May Cry 4 for example. It doesn't necessarily mean there will be a PC version of said game released.

    quote
"The content will be the same on all platforms," said Kitase. "However, we have yet to determine how many discs will be required for the 360 version. We'll have to consider the differences between formats. Currently the game is being built on PC, where it's actually functional. We're still focusing on making it work on PS3, so it's difficult to know how long the process of taking it to 360 will take."
All of those articles are springing from this quote, which says the game is being built on the PC, not that the game is going to appear on the PC.

I wouldn't call that an announcement, really. :L
and what reputable site would mix 'built on' and 'built for' and then publish a story about it?

Either way, the matter of solidity to THIS story is irrelevant, Why wouldn't they put it on the PC. It's already developed on a PC and works. At this point its actually costing more resources to port it to the PS360. Probably more on the PS3 since it is farther away from regular PC architecture. So sooner or later its going to happen regardless, maybe in a few years even. But its gonna

There most likely will be a PC build of the game announced, it just hasn't been announced at this time.

SquareEnix have told us on numerous occasions beforehand that the game is being build on the PC using Crystal Tools, so I have no idea why it's became such a big thing all of a sudden.

On Vacation you do know most games if not all of them are developed on the PC in the beginning stages right?

While Im sure there will be a FF13 PC game, this isn't confirming its going to be released on the PC. Nor do I see it relevant to anything. People continue to misinterpret articles which are meant to start flame wars.
