Confirmed: Bungie working on Halo project for Microsoft

Bale Fire | July 16, 2008 | News | XBOX 360 E3 2008 Company
Yep its happening, while I personally think the Halo franchise should stop after Halo Wars it appears money speaks otherwise to Microsoft. Microsoft’s head of Xbox business Don Mattrick confirmed it in a interview with MTV today and as such should be considered official. So get ready to finish the fight...again.
Here’s something to add to all the E3 drama this week about Bungie Studios‘ canceled/postponed/hyped debut of a new game…

In an interview shot for MTV News on Tuesday, Microsoft’s head of Xbox business Don Mattrick, confirmed to me that Bungie is indeed working on a new “Halo” game of some sort for Microsoft.

I had been asking Mattrick about the lack of “Halo” news at E3. He said that Microsoft’s Monday press conference was already loaded with content and so any announcements for that series weren’t needed to get gamers excited.

Is this the only series Bungie knows how to make games for?

So this must be talking about Halo 4 then, haha and to all the people saying its a rumor. XD

Well I wouldn't have doubted it from the start, after all Bungie does love Halo and much as MS.

Wonder how the game will play or add.

I doubt we'll see a Halo 4; I hear it's a different take on the franchise from a completely different perspective-- gameplay and story wise.

According to the books there are other spartans dealing with their own shit other places. Perhaps you get to mess around with them.

I agree with Seproth, it's probably some expansion to the story line that doesn't involve Master Chief.

I'm sure I read something about Peter Jackson doing some kind of interactive movie type Halo thing.

I don't think this has to be Halo 4, either... All he said was "project", not "sequel".

Microsoft is going to ride the halo franchise into the ground and then release more sequals on top of that.

lol. You're saying that after 3 games?

I wonder what you'd be saying if it had 13 main games like Final Fantasy or Zelda.

Horrible analogy considering the fact those games are entirely different, has nothing to do with the others. Where as halo series are sequels. GG Don.

And is this game not rumoured to be a completely seperate game? Is Halo Wars not a completely seperate game?

...Oh and many believe the Zelda series do have a connecting storyline. GT's take on it.

This doesn't mean Don its talking about Halo Wars, it could in fact be talking about Halo 4. Thats what I was saying.

Also I was talking about Zelda and Final Fantasy games being different. I one of those who don't believe they have a connecting storyline.

as its a new project i dont think its HALO, its only called halo simply because of the ring world in the story, it could very well be a story on the spartan program or earth up until 2545 etc. i dont think there gunna through the whole spartan / space experience that all the fans enjoy now, there at there peak of fame, they'd be throughing it away on something COMPLETELY different .

People just need to get over Halo. Geez, watching people talk about "OMG THERE'S GONNA BE HALO 4" is like watching a person trying to quit smoking having withdrawal symptoms.

and if it was a halo 4, not saying it is, but if, it was it would do soooooooo welll. considering the legendary difficulty cliff hanger it was left on, they dont make it through the portal and he goes to sleep, and they drift towards a new ring etc, they wouldnt do that, for nothing. think about it.
