Warhawk Update within 48 hours. Loads of new stuff including 2 new modes.

Mnmfan | July 14, 2008 | News | Playstation 3
A year has past since the release of Warhawk and now we finally get some new modes. Even I was getting sick of the same 'ol modes.
Developer Dylan Jobe just posted on the Playstation Blog explaining all the new features that are being added to Warhawk in 48 hours time.
The list of new stuff is quite huge but here are some of the best.

  • 2 New Gamemodes entitled Hero and Collection.
These 2 spanking new modes look quite promising.

Hero picks a random team member from each team and grants them 200% damage, 500% health and a pretty cool glowing light emitting from their bodies. During this time of being a Hero every person the Hero kills gets the Team a point. If the Hero kills the Hero from the opposite team your team gets 2 points.
There are more details at the source.
Collection has teams picking up Orbs scattered around the map and bringing them back to base. You can carry as many orbs as you want and you can even press triangle to throw an orb to a nearby teammate a la American Football style.
The points awarded depends on how many orbs are brought back. For 1 Orbs your team gets 1 point. 2 orbs is 3 points, 3 orbs is 6 points enz enz.

  • Rank & Awards Updated.
Many rewards and ranks have been made easier to achieve and a new ribbon has been added called Winning Team which is worth an amazing 50 points. A past update reduced the points received for Flag Saves so it was only fair that they also reduced the points needed for Ranking Up. A few medals and Badges have also been tweaked such as "Distinguished Air Combat” Medal previously required 10K total air-to-air kills and now requires 5K kills. More details at the source.

Trophies got mentioned too. Although they will not be released with this update they will be soon after. Some great news though for Trophy whores (like myself) is the fact that you do NOT need to buy any DLC in order to earn the Platinum trophy.

Anyway, there are plenty more stuff that I couldn't mention here. Just click the source link to find out all the juicy details.
  • As the storm of E3 approaches, so does our next big update for Warhawk and with it comes 2 entirely new gameplay modes for every map, including the Booster Packs – and these new gameplay modes are completely FREE!

Before I get into the meaty list of updates, let me start off by saying that Warhawk v1.4 will have its global simultaneous release very, very soon…how soon you ask?

    In just about 48 hours — July 16th at 10:00 GMT (that’s 3am Pacific)

When we started designing the new modes, we looked at play styles could freshen up the Warhawk play experience. After all, Warhawk is now almost a year old And after a few months of development and play testing, we’re ready to rollout 2 new gameplay modes that the team and I are incredibly happy with: Hero and Collection.

So, while I have just finished writing what is probably *way* too long of a blog post regarding the v1.4 Update…I need to talk about the v1.5 Update, specifically the Trophies. Here’s a quick breakdown of the 56 Warhawk Trophies:

There are 10 trophies based on current stats, ranks and awards and these 10 *ARE* retroactive. This is largely due to the fact that we have this data stored on our global Warhawk Server Cluster. There are 34 other Trophies that are entirely new ‘goals’ and should provide players with plenty of new challenges. And yes, Operation: Omega Dawn, Operation: Broken Mirror, and possibly a new something have new Trophies as well. Each booster pack has an additional 4 unique Trophies.

To earn the Warhawk Platinum Trophy, all you have to do is unlock the base game’s 44 Trophies…you do *NOT* have to buy any DLC to unlock the Platinum Warhawk Trophy. Forcing players to buy our DLC would be super-craptastic and completely unacceptable.

Damn, I accidently ticked the PSX box. It should be PS3 of course. Could someone with the power please change it to PS3?

Anyway, I know not many people on Neo still play Warhawk but I do I'm looking forward to this update.

I loved warhawk but I got quite bored of the glitches I experienced.. Like not leveling up and staying at the same point value maybe a FREE update (like this) will convince me to pick this one up again.

When the hell did you stop playing it? Those problems were fixed a long ass time ago.

This may make me put Warhawk back in the PS3, haven't touched in ages because of all the other games I want to play, might have to make some time to go back to Warhawk.

It's been a while since I've played too, due to lack of friends playing it, and lack of teamwork, it make the game boring and lonely

But . . . I may just have to hop back in it. Of course I was planning on doing that for the 1.4 update anyway

Oh HELL YEAH!!! I started playing this again and am so close to 600 hours game time.

I am SO glad they are lengthening the time it takes for TOW missiles to respawn as I am constantly killed by the damn things. It will make the game a little easier when your team doesn't have any zones because you won't be dying from TOW's every freaking 10 seconds lol.

Yeah, He always gives a hint/code to decipher about the upcoming booster packs. This one if you look at the blog, is a White Feather. . . Haven't a clue what that means though since I've not been in the Warhawk Forums in about 4 months or so.
