Oneechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers Making Its Way Stateside

Akira_EX | July 10, 2008 | News | Wii E3 2008
First if was the movie, now it's the Wii entry in this series making its way over from Japanese shores.

Oneechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers is the latest game in D3 Publisher's Oneechanbara series, which was first born in the publisher's Simple 2000 series for the PS2. The player will control one of the two sisters Aya, the bikini-clad cowgirl, and Saki, the school uniform-wearing swordswoman as they fight through the onslaught of zombies. If either sister gets too much blood on her from killing zombies, it will trigger a Rage Mode, where they will gain more power and agility.

The game will feature a cooperative mode, allowing for a second player to pick the unused sister in zombie hack-and-slashing. The game will utilize the Wii's motion controls to cut and dice the waves of the undead.

The game will be shown at E3. It is set to release in early 2009.

In case you haven’t noticed that we’ve been hosing down our pages with cosplay cuties, it’s GamesRadar’s Week of Babes. So we’re excited to announce that Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers will be heading to the US and UK in early 2009.

If you’re not familiar with the Onechanbara series, you’ve been missing out on one of the best examples of wildly weird titles that could only come from the land of the rising sun. Think Ninja Gaiden-styled action mixed with Dead or Alive-fashioned cleavage, and prepare to waggle those remotes with samurai sisters Aya and Saki. We’re sure there’s some kind of elaborate backstory explaining why these sword-swinging babes are risking their lives to put the lid on a mysterious and deadly outbreak of zombie-filled awesomeness, but do you really care?

Such details are rendered irrelevant by the game’s cast of blood splattered cuties and over-the-top gore. As you slice your way through hordes of the undead, the sisters will become drenched in blood, allowing you to trigger the Rage Mode, which will allow you to unleash powerful attacks and super high (upskirt revealing) kicks aplenty. A co-op mode will also be available so you can tear things up with a friend.

Expect more details on the status of Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers soon, and expect to get them here. In the meantime, check out the latest screenshots along with vital stats for Aya and Saki below.

I already said this before (on another site though lol), but the thing reminds me of Bullet Witch...Bullet witch, I hear, while largely mediocre, had some good points (aside from the hawt protagonist, the last bit of the game featured some cool powers and stuff, or something)....

I have my doubts about this being any good >_>

Haa I remember this game. I'm surprised they're releasing this game stateside. Usually stuff like bikini-clad, vampire nazis and and what not are confined to Japan.
