PS3 Firmware 2.40 Video Walkthrough (part II)

N.Shah | June 30, 2008 | News | Playstation 3
Part II of the Firmware 2.40 walkthrough is now up for viewing. The second video shows off the trophy system and how it works. The leaked screenshots released a week back are real according to the video.
The second part of the Firmware 2.40 video walkthrough is now available to watch. In-game XMB and various other features were shown off in part I of the walkthrough, and part II shows off the trophy support. Super Stardust HD will be the first game to support the trophy feature. We've reported most of the features in our earlier articles, but it's still useful to watch the video.

Looks great, i was wondering what they would do to make it different to XBL achievements, i am pretty impressed i like the whole leveling up type of thing. Though i wonder how it fairs when i get my hands on it, i am not a fan of Achievements so this system will prove itself when i play.

That's bloody incredible. Much more than I ever expected them to do with Trophies.

User Profile Trophy pages could be jazzed up some, but that's purely cosmetic. In all other aspects, it seems to be very streamlined!

Trophy system is majorly flawed, we have to replay our games from scratch, screw that shit.

Come on Sony do it right, or don't do it at all.

That is idiotic at best, if you take that attitude then prepare to live a life of dissapointment. You cannot expect developers to do something like that, its not feasble and lazy on your part. You are meant to play games for fun not for trophies or achievements. They are not expecting anyone to replay their games but if you do for fun then you will get something for doing that.

The thing is though, no one asked for trophy's in the first place. All they cared about was in-game XMB which they got. They just added those to be cool.

Its very possible for them to do something like this, its their choice. Remember in game music and XMB? Well certain games had it because of...right Developers adding them in.

I know exactly what Im talking about. Your right games are supposed to be for fun, but why make everyone who's already gotten 100% in games like I do have to replay the whole game to get 100% again only to get trophies? Exactly my point. No one likes this, alot of us hates this idea. Will we use them, who knows, but were not going to replay out 100% to get trophies thats why its majorly flawed.

My post isn't idiotic its realistic. And If I do things I'll do it the right way, its how I always live my life, nothing cheap and fast ass. The system needs tweaking alot, its nice addiction but very flawed, many have already shown their dislike for it.

How is it lazy on my part? Me not playing the game over for another 100% is lazy? Wow good one.
My attitude is perfect, you have no idea what your talking about.
