No Balance Board tricks in Skate It Wii - steering only

shuandrew | June 18, 2008 | News | Wii
In news that's bound to disappoint a lot of fans looking forward to Skate It on the Nintendo Wii, it appears that the Balance Board compatibility will only come into play when steering your character (no trickery!)... that'll be the job of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck.
Perhaps this information was already known, but we haven't seen it published widely. Electronic Arts' upcoming Skate It title (a Nintendo Wii spin-off from last year's hugely popular simulation) will not allow you to pull tricks via Balance Board controls.

It's the Wii Remote and Nuchuck you'll use to perform ollies, nollies, kickflips and the like, while the Balance Board is used simply to steer your character left and right by shifting your weight in either direction.

What's the point of having it as a controller in the game if you can't use it to do tricks? I can just handle the ship and do tricks with the obviously better Wii Mote + Nunchuck.

Sounds like a development shortcut to me. That certainly isn't like EA at all. [/sarcasm]

Wow this game looks cool. Hey, why not call it "Stand on a board for hours!"

Its not even a realistic title, I summed up your words and put it in an actual realistic Game title.
