Tidus and Jecht on Final Fantasy Dissidia

gonzab | June 11, 2008 | News | Playstation Portable
It looks like there's another duo making it to Dissidia: Tidus and his old man Jecht. So we got this characters as of now:

Final Fantasy: Warrior of Light and Garland;
Final Fantasy II: Firion and Emperor Palamecia;
Final Fantasy VII: Sephiroth (question is: when will Cloud be revelead? =P);
Final Fantasy VIII: Squall Leonhart and Ultimecia;
Final Fantasy IX: Zidane Tribal and Kuja;
Final Fantasy X: Tidus and Jecht

So will we be seeing anymore main characters and their arch-enemies? Who knows, but it is likely so.
Square Enix reveals yet another character for Dissidia Final Fantasy in the latest issue of Shonen Jump. Tidus and Jecht from Final Fantasy X are the latest characters to join the all star cast. It has been a year since Square announced this “Dramatic Progressive Action” game and news were few and far between since [...]

    LMAO I can understand Tidus, but Jecht? He's not even a playable character at all. I mean neither was Sephiroth but still you knew how he fought. Odd very odd.

      Not mentioning any spoilers, Jecht is a major character though.

      Umm, neither is Kuja, Garland, Sephiroth or Ultemicia. In fact it makes perfect sense since those are all villians and Jecht is Sin, and Sin was the games villian, just like all the characters I just named.

        I pretty much address why though. I mean have we honestly seen how Jecht fights? Last time I checked no, unless he's going to use his Jecht shot to hurt people...

        Xenc its not my point, like i said we have no idea what style of fighting he uses, what Zero listed we have, there's a slight difference.

        Yu-Yevon would be more perfect than Jecht.

          Why must we know how he fights for him to actually be in the game? You act as though the other characters are going to remain completely accurate to their previous versions.

          Oh yes a bag of Jelly is so much more fitting than an actual person. It doesnt matter that we never seen him fought before, its Square's character, they can make a fighting style for him if they want.

          I would expect characters who has fought before, and not just some back flashes of spheres, to be present in a fighting game. It just doesn't make sense from that stand point.
          Yu-Yevon is a better character than Jecht.

          ali3n im pretty sure SE isn't stupid enough to change the characters styles. Im sure all the fanboys would riot if they had, lets say Lulu beating the crap out of everyone with a sword rather than magic.

          How does it not make sense? Maybe in your perspective, but the simple fact that you dont see him fight other than when he transform isnt good enough. Truth be told, you dont see Sephiroth fight with his Katana AT ALL in the original FF7, he just grows wings and throws supernova at you.

          I didn't say they would completely change styles I said they wouldn't remain 100% faithful to their previous games. There is a difference.

          Yu Yevon makes even less sense than Jecht because you see him once and that's at the very end and if I recall correctly he wasn't even in a humanoid form then. If they used Yu Yevon they would have to change even more considering that fact that his entire move set would have to changed along with his shape.

    This was no real surprise, tbh. Now, I'm just waiting on them to finally announce Cecil and Golbez.

    Tidus looks a little gayer, tbfh.

      I thought he looks better. Least he doesn't have that technicolor "sports" outfit anymore. XD

      Can't say I like what they've done to Jecht's face though.

      Let's face it, he's a joke compared to Ultimecia. They could have made him stronger and such, but they didn't. -_-

        Well, at least he made sense. Ultimecia just appeared in disc 3 or something. Seifer would've been awesome to fight against because they could've made him stronger than in FF8. Who knows, he might've been training all these years

      Its going to be released everywhere I believe, and if not PSP games aren't region coded which means you can play it on any PSP made.
